Sherlock: We should see if Engineering can spare a soul for us. Maybe cut power to it as an excuse to ::making quote fingers:: get it repaired.

McLaren: Yes, that would be best. Would arouse the least amount of suspicion.

Trovek: Very well. ::she nodded:: I can arrange for that and I can put in a request with Lieutenant Vargas. See if she can spare Sera or Renot.

Aine nodded, both good choices. She'd come to know Sera a little and Renot, he'd be a good choice because of his sociability. No one would suspect a thing if he walked in to do the "repair" and began chatting up the medical staff on shift.

McLaren: Im sure either will be perfectly capable.

Sherlock: More than adequate.

More than anything, Aine was saying that to reassure McLaren. Though sure McLaren was a more than capable officer, one had to be to attain the rank she did especially in Intel, it was evident that she didn't know who they were talking about. It would be good to show confidence in some of the newer members of their crew.

Trovek: I am going to admit I didn’t encounter that kind of situation before - do I have to inform DeVeau or did I just send her a report once I’ve handled it? People would usually send me that report and I forward a recommendation for correctional measures.

McLaren: I'd report it now and inform her that youre taking steps to address it. Tell her what steps youre taking and so on.

Sherlock: Agreed. There's no sense in actually involving the Command staff at this time. Observe and report.

Trovek: response

McLaren: Then when everything is resolved update her on the situation and let her know it was resolved, and then you and her can work out appropriate punishments for whomever is caught.

Sherlock: ::nodding in agreement, then turning to Arys:: You won't have to decide the punishment either. That'll be on them. You can recommend one if you feel the need, but it's not required.

Aine had done just that on numerous occasions. Most of the time, on her past postings, she was able to enact non-judicial punishment. Simple slip ups and mistakes that didn't require ruining someone's career. But for the rare more serious infraction, she would defer to the Command staff only giving a suggestion, which for her, was always based on the law. After that, it was up to those in charge how, or even if, it would be handled.

Trovek: response

McLaren shrugged.

McLaren: I dont know... but Alora is a good XO so Im sure she'll be fair about it. Im sure you both can come up with a proper resolution once its discovered whats happening.

Trovek: response

Sherlock: Don't doubt yourself in that. Just make a fair suggestion.

Trovek: ?

Aine tapped a few more notes into her PADD, documenting their plan.

Sherlock: If you'd prefer, I can write the entire report and recommendations, and you can just hand it over to Commander DeVeau?

Trovek/McLaren: ?

Sherlock: The team ::gesturing to the two of them then herself:: can take responsibility.

Trovek/McLaren: ?

Aine gave them a sharp nod. Her recommendation had been leveled, and ultimately, it would be up to them. McLaren was the higher rank. Arys was Chief. This left Aine at the bottom of the food chain is this little situation. But she wouldn't be afraid to take it to Alora herself if they asked her to.

Sherlock: You got time to decide. No worries.

Trovek/McLaren: ?
