Ysatch: Killing floor doesn't seem right to me, but if I'm wrong ...

sh’Sonora: We’ll be too dead to notice! ::She then turns sheepishly to her superior officer.:: Not that I’d tempt fate or anything, Sir. I can do it. I can weave through that path. Say the word, and we’ll be on the other side of that minefield in five minutes.

Tori brought his hand to his mouth to stifle his chuckle. He was learning Mi'shune was the type of person who liked to say the quiet part loud, which was good. Sometimes in his eagerness to please, he danced around difficult truths. It was good to have someone keep him honest.

McLaren: =/\= Wyn... call is yours, but I tend to agree with Tori... that field layout leaves an open lane to the most likely asteroid the Temurians are on. Blockading a trade outpost of any kind would be counter to getting the power cores out there... it should be safe to land there...  =/\=

Foster: =/\=We have to meet with the Temurians to gather more data, and if there’s a clear path to them I have to assume its navigable.=/\=

McLaren: =/\= Im gonna turn my sights toward the planet for the moment... see if we can discover anything there... Ill keep you in the loop. =/\=

Foster: =/\= Sounds good. I’ll reach out when we have landed. =/\=

sh’Sonora: =/\=This is your pilot speaking. Please secure all loose and vital equipment, secure yourselves, and hold onto your butts ‘cause things are about to get interesting in the Tamarian proverb kind of way. Sparrow out.=/\= ::blip:: Just say when, Captain. And seatbelts everyone!

Foster: Alright, take us into the cluster, following the corridor. Destination Asteroid.

Ysatch: If any of those mines does more than twitch, you'll know because I'll start screaming. In a different way from how I do from the lieutenant's piloting.

sh’Sonora: ?

Tori braced himself against his console and kept his eyes deadlocked on the sensors. There were no changes in activity from all the spots he had marked as probable mine locations, but new duranium hits did begin to show up as the MaxThrust's location changed and got a different line of sight than before. So far all were in spots where they would expect a mine to be.

Foster: So far, so good.  Keep her steady.

Ysatch: Nothing funny on sensors, it looks like they're letting us in.

sh'Sonora: ?

Foster: That looks like our destination. Mi’sh, find a good place to land and take us down. Tori, send a standard signal announcing our and that we’re here to trade.

Ysatch: Aye Captain!

Tori tabbed over to the comms interface where he had readied a message earlier for just the occasion. It was a standard trade protocol between two parties interacting for the first time. A bland but polite greeting message followed by a list of previous clients they had previously done business with -- all who had been cleared by Starfleet Intelligence to vouch for them should the references be checked. It was a protocol the Ferengi had established and one widely in use by independent traders for its efficiency. He flicked his finger to send the message to the icon of the subspace relay, and watched for any sign of a response.

sh’Sonora: ?

Foster: We’ll have teams disembarking with the Angry Pidgeon – but we need to dig through that drone data.  As we’ve already covered, no one puts mines in a trading area for no reason.  I want to know what’s hiding out there.

Ysatch: I wonder if our new friends down there will have anything to say about it.

As if in response, the read receipt light blinked on next to the message Tori had sent out. Someone was definitely home.

sh’Sonora: ?

Foster: Yeah, if we can also figure out what triggers the mines without setting them all off, that will only benefit us.

Ysatch: I'll starting looking into it. And worst case scenario, I do think the lieutenant's idea from earlier would still work if we need to make a hot exit.

sh’Sonora: ?

Which is when the reply came scrolling across his screen. Tori furrowed his brow as he read it: "Permission to land granted for trade hanger three."

Ysatch: We have ah ... well they've given us permission to land in trade hanger three. ::pause:: I don't know where that is? ::points at the obvious landing spot to the front and side of the main settlement:: Is that trade hanger three? It looks like the only open spot, but then why would they call it "three?"

sh'Sonora/Foster: ?

Ysatch: ::embarrassed:: Oh yeah, sure, I can ask them. Yeah, I'll just ask them. That's what I'm gonna do.

Tori quickly typed out the question "Where is trade hanger three?" A few moments passed and then the reply. "I'm blinking the light on and off." Tori stared it a few moments, like it was a sandwich with pickles after he had asked for none. He had expected coordinates, a beacon, a map, something established to follow. Not a blinking light.

Ysatch: ::sheepishly:: They say they're blinking the light off and on. Don't look at me like that, it's just what the message says! Literally all it says!

sh'Sonora/Foster: ?

A flicker began to emit from the lights surrounding the prominent landing pad.

Ysatch: ::pointing at the blinking light:: Well either that is the place or they need to change that lightbulb.

sh'Sonora/Foster: ?
