((Primrose Gardens - San Francisco District - Starbase 118))

Haukea watched Sasch’s face fall and despite being the Chief of Security she was not privileged towards the exact reasoning as to why both individuals had applied for absences or transfers - not for their duration, not for their nature.

Kreshkova:  I didn’t know.  I hope he’s doing vell.

Willow: Agreed.

Kreshkova:  Vhat about you and Lieutenant Marsh?  Zhe two of you vere close.

Willow: Madison Marsh…

Madison, who had started as a medical officer, worked her way to assistant chief medical officer before advancing to mission specialist and finally chief science officer, all while initiating a relationship with Haukea-Willow, then seemingly with no prior signs, taking her own leave. Haukea and Madison, certainly, had not officially ended their relationship, nor did the Risian believe they ever would - lovers were very special people.

Nevertheless, as was Risian, if not Haukea, in nature, with forward thinking, thoughts of her partner, their previous experiences, were few and far between. And considering how minute her spare time had been over the past several months, even when visiting family on Risia with individuals who could have a social gathering every other night - a spare thought was hard to spare - Haukea’s emotional concern had been consumed with thoughts of current family and crew. Nonetheless, such limited occupation of her mind on her considered life partner did not give away the fact she still loved, cared and found a fulfilling life within the presence of the other individual - Madison Marsh.

Kreshkova: I’m so sorry, Villow.  Like vizh Korras…I just didn’t know.

Willow: She left. Became Chief Science officer and then left. Obviously it wasn’t like we actually said goodbye or ended anything… she just left.

Her tone of voice was flat, emotionless. Not on purpose, yet due to the inability to express what she couldn’t name, which certainly wasn’t a sadness nor a particular longing, merely an emptiness.

Kreshkova: Sometimes, zhere are just no adequate vords.  Zhis is vone of zhose times.

Oftentimes, as expressed by Kreshkova, the majority of the words adequate to convey meaning towards a friend was in fact nothing at all. Haukea was unwilling to participate in platitudes, finding Madison’s disappearance, if it could be considered as such, a mere fact of their union, neither here nor there, not a falling off or out. If at all Madison returned, Haukea would welcome her with open arms, reuniting as if months of distance had not occurred. Yet, knowing the conversation to have run its course, altered the subject.

Willow: What about you? I heard you transferred to The Thor.

Kreshkova: I did.  It vas a good step forvard for me.  I got to fly a ship vizh a slipstream drive…zhrough a knotted area of space.  Ve literally call it zhe Tangle.

Willow: For a pilot, that seems extremely exciting. Hope you got to perform some fancy flying.

Kreshkova:  But zhe highlight vas zhe crew.  I feel like I vas really just becoming a part of it.  I had a vorkout partner. I had made friends vizh zhe CMO.  I even got a hug from a bug.

Willow: A hug from a bug, you must tell me more - that seems like a unique experience, we don’t see many bugs in Starfleet.

Kreshkova:  Ve haf a Xindi insectiod on zhe Zhor.  Ve had a disagreement and talked it zhrough.  It vas really …

Haukea watched as Sasch worked to blink away the building dampness from her eyes, likely emotionally struck by the mention of her Xindi insectiod companion.

Kreshkova:  It vas really touching.

Looking off down the winding path of the river, Haukea spied what appeared to almost be a secret garden, filled with paved paths of various materials - stone, wood - a variety of garden beds containing domestic flora from around the sector. In reality it was a visual painting of brightly muted pinks, greens, blues, oranges, a sweet, soft perfume for the nose. Perhaps a walk in that direction would clear the air.

Willow: You see that down there? ::Haukea pointed a finger towards the secret garden:: Looks like a garden.

Kreshkova: Response

Willow: Not sure what species the flora come from, though it does look magical.

Kreshkova: Response

Willow: Perhaps a walk in that direction? Explore the garden.
