Ensign Box McRoberts - Analysis

Box and S'zurak were making their way through the halls of the ship, discussing how they might theoretically invade and take over the ship as Romulans. In any other case, this would've been highly suspicious, but they were on a mission to analyse and close any weak points within the ship. At least, tactically.

Szurak: On sssecond thought, we should ssstick together. Splitting our numbersss only gives Security an opportunity to isolate usss. 

McRoberts: Right.

He'd almost forgotten how small an infiltrator group would be.

oO Focus. Oo

S’zurak: Right. Now… We jussst snuck aboard via shuttle. 

Indeed they had, and in their hypothetical intrusion scenario, it meant that they now had time to spare as long as they didn't destroy anything first.

S’zurak: We should not waste our firssst moments aboard announcing ourselves. Shooting our way toward the bridge only tells Security exactly where we are.

Another fundamental of infiltration. Perhaps the most important.

McRoberts: Agreed, we should focus on the most important locations on the ship.

S’zurak: There.

The Gorn pointed at a display. The section he was indicating was the computer core.

S’zurak: The main computer core extendsss down to this deck.

McRoberts: Are you suggesting we use it to hijack the ship?

It was a viable objective.

S’zurak: We do not need to hack the entire ship. Damage the right processorsss, power feeds, or data pathways and we could make half the ship unreliable before anyone knowsss why.

McRoberts: Indeed, other than the bridge, the computer core is the most vulnerable part of the ship.

They started walking towards the computer core, which was

S’zurak: We create problemsss. They spend their time solving them.

McRoberts: Sounds like a classic disruption operation.

S’zurak: Very Romulan.

oO Very Romulan indeed. This sounds exactly like something they'd pull Oo

S’zurak: Bzzzt. Computer relay. ::shifting his aim:: Bzzzt. Bzzzt.

It was a bit immersion-breaking to see S'zurak pointing his phaser and making shooting noises. 

McRoberts: Psheew. Kapeew.

He also aimed and pointed his gun around and made noises at the computer core. He felt quite silly doing this, but he brushed that off.

McRoberts: If we were really attacking, though, we'd probably not want to attack the core indiscriminately. It might, for example, switch off life support.

S'zurak: ?

McRoberts: If they didn't know we were here before, they certainly would now.

oO There goes all the time we had. Oo

Now they'd be on the clock, and likely playing cat and mouse while outnumbered, not exactly an advantageous position.

McRoberts: We might want to get more mobile now. So, should we get the bridge now, or make our escape?

S'zurak: ?

McRoberts: Makes sense, lead the way.

S'zurak: ?

They sped off down the hallway. The other two would be on their tail now.
