((Beachfront – Raskor II))

Ross would never stop wondering how the appearance of a single man could shift the whole atmosphere of a full room - or, in this case, beach. Taybrim was already on stage as the torches were lit and the lights came up - immediately, the chatter of the crowd died down and everyone turned towards the front expectantly.

There had been times where Ross had dreaded these moments - the tension, the question whether he would survive the spotlight another time. But now - years later - he was always looking forward to giving his colleagues some well deserved praise.

Taybrim: Gathered friends, faces new and old. I want to welcome you all to Raskor II, and to this celebration of your accomplishments. ::he placed a hand on his chest:: I am humbled and thrilled to be able to share this time with you. However, to start I do want to let you know that Captain Fairhug did arrive on Bardeez safe and sound, and the Bardeezan doctors were able to apply the memory recovery that our medical staff pioneered. He hopes to return soon, once he is fully recovered. He shares his well wishes and pride at your accomplishments. I promise I will pass on any communications I receive from him.

Ross tensed his jaw slightly at the memory of losing Fairhug in the chaos of the Ivory Tower. He hadn't been able to reach out to him, but he still carried around his Captain's pips - hopefully, they would soon return to their true owner.

Taybrim: But let me turn towards those present. I want to start by welcoming back Lieutenant Haukea-Willow, our Chief of Security, and Lieutenant S’zurak, our tactical officer.  You both missed quite the interesting mission, and we’re very glad you are back!

Willow/S’zurak: ?

Ross threw Haukea a warm smile - she already knew how much he had missed her, and he also turned his head to catch the sight of S'zurak. It was good to know him back - the Gorn had proven a brilliant companion in investigations and combat. He joined in with the cheers of welcome.

Taybrim: Now, onto official welcome, starting with Ensign Alok Munshi, you joined the crew of StarBase 118 during the New Year’s awards ceremonies and while it is quite overdue, I could not let you get away without an official welcome!

Ross watched Alok with a grin - they had shared an interesting encounter during Shore Leave and he hadn't forgotten what he had learned about his taste for cyber-enhancement. An interesting addition to their crew for sure.

Munshi: ?

Taybrim: I am thrilled that you are here to join us again, and I’m glad you were able to help the crew out on the last mission.

Munshi: ?

Ross: Welcome to the show!

Taybrim: And StarBase 118 has been particularly fortunate with our incoming Engineers, for not only do we have Ensign Munshi, but we also officially welcome Ensign A’Mayri!

Ross had shared a fantastic trip to the Raskor seaside with the Vulcan - he threw her a smile, raising his glass. He was happy to call her a new colleague.

A’Mayri: ?

Taybrim: I could not have asked for a better graduating class to join our ranks!

A’Mayri: ?

Taybrim: And in saying that, let me officially welcome your fellow graduate Ysatch Tori, our new Communications and Operations officer!

Ross hadn't had the chance to meet Tori yet, but he still raised his glass and hoped they would soon get to work and know each other better.

Ysatch: :: smiling his most normal smile :: Thank you sir, very excited to join the crew.

Taybrim: I am very excited to have you both with us on Ops and I know you will both be fantastic additions to the crew for our upcoming missions.

Ysatch: For anyone I haven't had the chance to meet yet, let's chat soon! Tonight! Not now, after this! I'm going to stop talking now.

Ross let out a chuckle. He would certainly come back to that offer.

Taybrim: And now let me propose a toast, to the crew of StarBase 118 Ops. To the seasoned officers who guide with experience and wisdom, to old friends who we have shared many adventures with together.  To the experienced officers who lead though passion and energy, who are growing and learning and become a bridge between old and new. To friends who we are growing close to. And to our newest officers, bring new ideas, new skills and bright new futures to the team. New friends who fill us with excitement and energy. To all of you.  Thank you for sharing this evening.

Ysatch: Here here!

Sylvax: To all of you.

Voss: To 118!

Ross: Cheers, guys.

McLaren: Welcome all!

Any: ?
