Sadie Asta bounced a little on their feet to bleed off some of their nervous energy.  It was a positive way to channel excess energy.

Asta: Yeah, give me a second.  ::They reached over and grabbed a PADD to offer it over:: Four teams of two. Kheem’no and Varis, Lowell and Montgomery, Panlo and Garcia, Vang and o’Oonla.

They handed the PADD over to Sherlock, calling up the duty roster with pictures attached.

Sherlock: And who was last on duty?

Asta: Vang and o’Oonla were with me when we discovered the device.  Both are still on duty, just outside this section.

Sherlock: Ok...

Sadie fidgeted a little, feeling that all of this was over their head. They hadn’t ever really dealt with terrorists before, and they knew all of their crew.  This seemed incomprehensible, and yet it had happened.

Asta: I have known all of them for at least a year.  They’re good engineers… I trusted them…

Sherlock: ::holding up the PADD:: This doesn't mean anything, Chief.

Asta: What do you mean?

Sherlock: What I mean is that this isn't necessarily a list of suspects. They could just be witnesses. ::shrugging::  I'm going to transmit this information to our other team, just so we have some shared knowledge.

Asta: Please know that this area has a tight lockdown – and we didn’t notice anything suspicious.  There was no distraction nor altercation beforehand.  So I’m not sure who could have snuck in…

Sherlock: If you or any of your engineering team could help us with ::pointing over towards the device:: that...we could use all the help we can get.

They nodded, reaching for a commline.

Asta: I’ll get Vang and o’Oonla in here.  Both will be willing to help in whatever way necessary.

Sherlock: Anyone else's tricorder not working?

Luthas/Renot: ?

Asta looked about and pulled a diagnostic.

Asta: There’s some sort of interference…

Sherlock/Luthas/Renos: ?

Asta: ::Rocking on their feet:: It could be due to the merging of the warp bubbles… but we should be able to compensate for that.

Sherlock/Luthas/Renos: ?

Sucking in a breath, they started checking all the hardwired diagnostics.

Asta: I’m worried it’s a leak in the secondary coolant systems.  ::They frowned deeply.:: While it’s not critical to keep the warp engines from breaching, the secondary systems play into the impulse drive.

Sherlock/Luthas/Renos: ?

Asta: That not only makes it much more difficult for us to slow down, if we can’t fix it, but it can release gamma radiation, which will mess with tricorders and scanners – and if we’re not careful mess with your brain.  Loss of vision, delirium, hallucinations, headaches, the works.

Sherlock/Luthas/Renos: ?

Asta: With scanners down we’ll have to go directly to the impulse core.  Also sealed off to all by the engineering core.  And if there’s gamma radiation, we’ll be exposed.  I have safety gear, we’ll need to suit up just in case and pray we don’t start going crazy on the way down.

Sherlock/Luthas/Renos: ?
