((( OOC: Sorry about the rewrite and thanks for your patience! )))

((Deck 528, Starbase 118))

As the team pursued the cybernetic menace, a blue whirl shot forward with impressive speed. A’Mayri was quick to realize that Mi’shune was leading the charge with an enthusiastic wave of a clean suit like a bearer marking the start of war. Although A’Mayri wasn’t too familiar with the Andorian Helmsman, a small well of respect and amusement both motivated and eased the tension that had started to cloud the half Vulcan’s caution.

A’Mayri: CHRLI’s behavior is atypical and almost organic, whoever created it must have been highly skilled and potentially off kilter.

Just before A’Mayri could pick up the pace, Ysatch sprinted forward to keep the little mechanical creature in sight as well. oO Everyone is quite motivated, perhaps I should adjust my pacing to display the same amount of effort. Oo It was almost comical. Just as A’Mayri was about to shift into a higher gear, the Bajoran ensign slowed his approach to face the team again.

Ysatch: Does anyone else feel like we're being baited? It's fast enough that it could probably lose us if it wanted to.

sh’Sonora: ::panting:: That… little… bastard… ::She slumped against the wall, chest heaving in air.::

A’Mayri had drawn in a few steady deep breaths to stabilize and recalibrate her breathing and initial adrenalin equivalent rush. It was impressive how such a small creation could draw out such effort in so little time. The only visible signs of her exhorted energy were a few heaved breaths that settled and slightly fluffed hair from the run they all just accomplished.

She keyed in visuals on Ysatch, Bryce and Mi’shune again to make sure everyone was still alright and nearby. The moment they all paused to recuperate, the little cybernetic armadillo like pup planted in place once more.

A’Mayri: ::eases the drawer down to lean it on the nearby wall beside Mi’shune:: CHRLI has ceased its escape. I agree that it is both taunting and baiting us.

Ysatch: If we know that it's not just gonna disappear into the station -- that it WANTS to play with us -- maybe we can use that to our advantage.

As Ysatch retrieved his tricorder, A’Mayri noted that it was wise of him and Mi’shune for grabbing them before leaving the office. oO Two Tricorders, two clean suits, a containment drawer and PADDs. Oo When she glanced toward Ysatch again, she caught the split second of ‘Ahah!’ on his face before he continued.

Ysatch: Jeffries tubes! It's sticking to the corridors, so what if one of us used the Jeffries tubes to get out ahead of it and flank it?

sh’Sonora: At this point, I’ll try anything short of flushing it out into space.

A’Mayri: ::eyes flickering between the group, hallway and the heavy shelf:: We will have to consider both vertical and adjacent horizontal running Jeffires tubes.

A’Mayri: ::gaze to Tori and Mi’shune again:: Seeing that CHRLI has seen you both push forward directly, it may be advisable I and one other should tackle the Jeffries tubes to allow one of you to tactically preserve your energy and use your tricorder to redirect it.

sh’Sonora/Ysatch: ?

A’Mayri: If we continue with this plan, I would prefer to tackle the vertical tubing to drop down over the meeting sight for trapping precaution ::reaches over to pick up the shelf again.::

sh’Sonora/Ysatch: ?

A’Mayri visually scanned the compartment designation over the nearest door, took note of the general location of the space then back toward her team before she shifted the shelf onto her shoulder, hand tight against the handle to keep it slung over her back like a burplap sack.

A’Mayri: Please remember to prioritize your safety as often as possible. My comms will be open and location available to you all.

sh’Sonora/Ysatch: ?

Right, yes. This was the real fleet, real actions will have real consequences. No matter the situation, it was somewhat comforting to know that all the ensigns were able to work together. It felt like a good moment to finally get to know her peers through experience rather than long paced introductions that required social tact. She could only hope that the others felt the same or somewhat similar sentiments.

A’Mayri: ::small pause before she moves to start ascending:: This almost feels like a tactical maneuvering and recovery drill we all completed back at the academy. Although inconvenient, I am relieved to have you all through this endeavor.

sh’Sonora/Ysatch: ?
