((OOC: Added in a few more tags to explain the situation to Taybrim, as requested. <3 ))
((Starbase 118 - Docking Bay))
Aitas: Imperatrix, might I have the honor of introducing you to the Captain?
Azera: Granted. ::She looked to Ishani.:: Will I be accompanied by your staff?
Kasun: :: Ishani’s face hid the fact that she rather wished not to. :: If that is what you wish Imperatrix.
Azera: Good.
::Azera seemed to dismiss them then, her attention turning to a screen that appeared from her palm.::
Kasun: We will leave you be until then Imperatrix. Captain Taybrim will be arriving shortly.
::Aitas bowed again, then turned to follow Ishani out of the conference room. Being an empath made it far easier to detect Ishani's stress, though under the circumstances it wasn't hard to guess at.::
Kasun: Father rather undersold her... presence it seems.
Aitas: I'm having flashbacks to being dragged to familial functions by my grandmother. And at least those never ended in someone being assassinated.
::She gave a thin smile. Betazoid functions also had the questionable benefit of her not being able to hear all the telepathic arguments.::
Kasun: :: She let out a sigh, her hands dropping to her sides. :: Do not worry. :: She gave Aitas a weak smile. :: I’ve had decades of practice in keeping my thoughts from showing.
Aitas: Good. ::She frowned slightly, shaking her head.:: I'll do what I can but I fear I never got a full set of instructions in Eccian etiquette.
::She heard the incoming sounds of the Captain's footsteps before he spoke.::
Taybrim: ?
Kasun: Captain. :: She gave him the same smile she had given Aitas not a minute earlier. :: I hope you’re ready for this.
Aitas: We can at least afford the time to give you a brief overview of the situation, sir.
Taybrim: ?
Aitas: She is to be addressed as 'Imperatrix' or 'your eminence'. If you're not sure as to the precise manners, treat her as if she were the leader of one of the Betazoid noble houses. The Cantavi were a great house before the Borg came, and a matriarchal one.
::No swift analogue was perfect, but they had had little time to prepare.::
Kasun/Taybrim: ?
Aitas: Her culture valued ruthlessness and technology. I would not wish to be her enemy. ::They hardly had time for more elegant, nuanced descriptions, as much as it pained Aitas to be so brief.:: And Taelon is her only remaining child. The others were...taken by the Borg when El-Auria fell.
::She wouldn't let herself refer to Taelon in the past tense. Not yet. And she certainly didn't want to discuss the situation with his mother.::
Kasun/Taybrim: ?
Aitas: We'd best not keep her waiting. And let me introduce her first. I know something of the proper format for such; and she granted me permission.
Kasun/Taybrim: ?
::They stepped back into the conference room, and Aitas bowed again, then looked from Azera to Taybrim before she spoke.::
Aitas: Captain, may I present Imperatrix Azera,113th Daughter of Cantavi, Speaker of the Second House, She Who Carries the Song.
Kasun/Taybrim/Azera: ?
