As the ceremony moved on to the other officers, Tori found his mind wandering-- although he did catch himself in time to offer some "woos" for Mi'shune, Lyra and Ryden's promotions. Hearing about all the crew had gone through on the previous mission, from memory loss to intergalactic diplomacy, reminded him that this was the standard he was now being held to.
So far his time at Starbase 118 had been spent mainly finishing up Academy coursework, decorating his new quarters and going through Ensign Bingo. Fun stuff, and Tori was a noted proponent of fun. But at some point in the not-so-distant future, he might be asked to make sacrifices in the name of his crew, Starfleet and the Federation. He needed to remember to conduct himself more often like someone who believed he was ready for that. He truly thought he was, but his fellow officers needed to believe it too.
His introspection was interrupted when he noticed A'Mayri heading over to join Munshi, who was talking to the newly-promoted Lieutenants, so he jogged over to join them.
Ysatch: Congratulations Mi'shune! ::leaning forward and confidentiality:: I'm so relieved the thing with the ceiling didn't hurt your promotion chances! ::turning to Voss:: And you too Lyra! I hope your new responsibilities leave you a minute some time to compare notes on CHRLI.

Ysatch: Anyway, I'd load up on this embassy grub while you can. Alok and I spent some time on the Angry Pigeon recently. I didn't check if it had a replicator, but I don't know if I'd necessarily trust it if it did.
Munshi: I’m already calculating the logistical route to the skewer station. But before we mobilize... ::he looked back at Mi'shune and Lyra, his smirk returning:: ...I hope the two new Lieutenants aren't planning on pulling rank to make us carry the appetizers. That would be an abuse of power and a very poor use of Engineering resources.
Ysatch: ::shaking his head in joking dismay:: One day you're doing Ensign Bingo together and the next you're a canapé distribution system.
