((Briefing Room – StarBase 118))
Commodore Taybrim had put in a call for a priority meeting with the helm and tactical crew of the Narendra even before knowing of the situation brewing in the Klingon embassy on StarBase 118. And as of the start of the meeting no one knew. Yet.
His penchant for pre-planning would serve him well in this case.
He had put the call in for Ensigns Galven and Talas, Lieutenant Wallace Williams and his first officer Alora DeVeau. Ishreth Dal was also attending, though for the majority of the conversation he was silent, absorbing the information as the quiet Andorian knew he was the one to implement the Commodore’s plans after the Commodore beamed down.
Sal had provided some light refreshments – beverages and snacks, to ease the last minute, high priority meeting sting. He settled as the group gathered and then closed the briefing room, putting up a standard security protocol.
Taybrim: Thank you all for joining me on late notice. We have a situation brewing in the Klingon Empire that we are involved in and I wanted to touch base with some planning before we launch the Narendra.
Talas/Galven/Williams/DeVeau: ?
Sal took in a deep breath and tried to give the quickest overview to this group that would bring them up to speed without overlaboring the details. They had other important details to worry about such as locating the cult vessels and preventing an air to ground strike.
Taybrim: Currently we have one Commander Janul of the Klingon Defense Force under house arrest and protection of StarBase 118 Security. Janul is an ally of ours who destroyed an important cult-aligned battleship in our last encounter and, incidentally, opposed and killed his mother, head of his house. The Klingons have mixed emotions about that action and have called Janul in for a trial. Time is quickly running out and we will have to bring Commander Janul to Q’onoS. We are working on diplomatic efforts to bring the cult into the open and have the Commander’s charges dropped.
Talas/Galven/Williams/DeVeau: ?
Taybrim: ::Sal nodded slowly. This was a small group without counselors or diplomats. It was tactics and science.:: Correct. We have other teams working on the diplomatic efforts. I will be heading down to Q’onoS with backup. But we have received intelligence that the cult intends to strike the Klingon High Command during the trial. This will include a high probability of an attempted air to ground strike.
There was the meat of it. These were the best people on the entire Starbase to find hidden cult ships, get a tactical advantage over them and maneuver into position to prevent them from striking.
Talas/Galven/Williams/DeVeau: ?
Taybrim: ::he pulled up a display and offered out PADDs:: The Cult uses mainly old B’Rel class warbirds, as well as Corellian small bombers and Orion Strikers. ::Both were small ships that were designed like marine fighters – quick strike ships to support a larger vessel.:: The specs on all of them are on the PADDs. With the age of the B’Rel class warbirds, while they have cloaking devices, it’s an older technology and many are damaged so there are almost always cracks in the cloak to exploit and detect them before they decloak.
Talas/Galven/Williams/DeVeau: ?
Taybrim: Your goal, on the Narendra, is to locate any cloaked or hiding Cult ships and prevent them from attacking the planet.
