((USS Narendra, Bridge))

Slowly things were falling into place.

Now was the most difficult part – catching and remembering all the little details.  All the things that so easily slipped through the cracks.  Seeing the forest and the trees.

Start with the biggest things, work fastidiously down to the small ones.

He knew he could do it.  But it was difficult.

Taybrim: =/\=I know the star maps of the sector very well.  I can get a location, we just need an engineer to get those co-ordinates in the system.=/\=

Sherlock: =/\= Commodore, the bomb is ready for transport. You should be receiving the signal now. =/\=

He checked the feed.

Taybrim: =/\= Confirmed, we have the signal.  Hold until we can get the transwarp transport ready, and Lieutenant gather your team for extraction.=/\=

Sherlock: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= We’ll need Ensign Renot onboard to initiate the transport.  So you don’t have to worry about gathering him.  If we’re ready to bring you onboard, Egil will already be on the Narendra. =/\=

He smiled while he said it, sounding reassuring.  He wanted everyone in place and to initiate a big rescue after so much work.

Aristren: We were able to pinpoint three possible locations to detonate the bomb securely, and with minimal risk.

Tito: I see them Lieutenant, thank you for your help

Aristren: Perfect. ::She nodded:: I will leave this in your more than capable hands. I don't believe I can contribute any further to this. Instead, I would like to make sure that both Lieutenant Harris 'partner' as well as the woman she shot are recovered.

Tito: Much obliged Lieutenant.

Taybrim: I’ll get sickbay reports as soon as they come in.  First priority right now is the bomb.

One thing at a time.  Do each well.  Then move forward.

It was the best he could do.

Sometimes, like with Utopa colony, that didn’t work and people got hurt.  But they were far more proactive this time and there was an excellent chance this mission would be a success.  Not a success with caveats, but just a success.  A full success.

Aristren: We also have Kent to think about. however, I am no longer able to pinpoint whether or not he needs to be beamed out. His connection to Doctor Trovek severed when she beamed up to the Narendra.

Tito: Very much so, I believe he was helping with the fire and the impulse engines.

Taybrim: Let’s see if we can connect with Ensign Renot.  Kent would be in his area, and we need his assistance.

As if on cue Ensign Renot commed in.

Renot: =/\= Ensign Renot to Narendra Bridge. We’ve got the fires under control. We need you guys to back off so we can drop speed safely without crashing into you guys. We need to take the impulse offline and divert power to the warp core. As soon as they snip the wires of course. =/\=

Taybrim: =/\= Good to hear from you Ensign.  We are ready to move out of the warp bubble.  How long until you’re ready to do the shift? =/\=

Asta: =/\= Give me four minutes still.  This is a critical shift.  As long as I’m not on fire, I can do it correctly and safely.=/\=

Engineer Asta reminded him of so many other engineers in the fleet – hardworking and focused on getting the job done.

Tito: =/\= It looks like things are finally working out.

Renot: =/\= We have Kent right here with us. Keeping my eyes on him. Helped us suppress the fires at least. =/\=

That answered one question.  He could easily get a scan and pinpoint three lifesigns.  Two human and one Al-leyan.  And they had Kent’s DNA scan, it was easy to pinpoint each member of the conversation.

Taybrim: =/\= That is good to hear. =/\=

Asta: =/\= Now if there wasn’t a bomb on the warp core… =/\=

Taybrim: =/\= The bomb has been disarmed.  But we still need to remove it from your ship. =/\=

Renot: =/\= Well, that’s good. That’s a big step out of the way. =/\=

Tito:  =/\= You won’t imagine how much.

Taybrim: =/\= We have a plan to use transwarp transportation to pull the bomb off while the Belladonna is at warp.  ::he paused:: Ensign Renot, are you versed in transwarp theory? =/\=

Renot: =/\= It’s not… what I am specialised in, but the theory is still fresh in my mind from the Academy. Cadets didn’t get access to the meat of the data, sir. If you granted me access to it… Even temporarily, I should get it.=/\=

Funny enough. A Commodore could grant that access with just a few input commands.

And he had already unlocked it for Tito.  Giving Renot permission was done in seconds.

Tito: =/\= That has been taken care of, Ensign. Now we need your skills.

Taybrim: =/\= Chief Engineer Asta, do you require Ensign Renot to shut the impulse drive down? =/\=

Asta: =/\= I feel safe with Ensign Renot here.=/\= ::there was a long, deep pause.:: =/\= But he’s done fantastic work and it’s to the point where I could finish the switch myself.

Renot: =/\= If you are absolutely sure, Sadie… =/\=

Saving ships must be how engineers bonded.  Sal felt a little swell of hope hearing the camaraderie between the Belladonna crew and Starfleet.

Tito: =/\= I believe that since the situation is more at hand in the Belladonna it would be best to have the Ensign return.

Renot: =/\= If you need me back sir, you can transport me back. I’ll need a few things, but that can easily be sorted I imagine. Uh, I should probably get treated for Gamma radiation the moment I get back, darling. I touched the tricobalt with bare hands and feel… odd.=/\=

He might have sounded just a little odd as well.  He didn’t want to know how touching tri-cobalt with bare hands happened.  But it had, so he wasn’t going to question, only prepared to treat moving forward.

Taybrim: =/\= I’ll have one of the medical orderlies meet you with an inoculation.  Let me know when you’re ready for transport. =/\=

Renot: =/\= Yeah, ready whenever, darlings… =/\=

Between Egil and Alora, this Gamma Radiation thing was going to prompt a whole bunch of shore leave conversations.

Not that Sal was opposed to being called darling.  When it was genuine, it was lovely.

He simply wasn’t seeking to date his crew, especially in the middle of a mission.

Then again he had been called stranger things on duty and this didn’t phase him much.

Tito: =/\= Perhaps we should raise a quarantine field in Engineering and beam the Ensign there.

Taybrim: We beamed Alora up and greeted her with a nurse.  I think we can do the same for Ensign Renot.  No brigs necessary.  The inoculation will take affect quickly – and we need him.

He cleared his throat and then spoke to the commline

Taybrim: =/\= Ensign, prepare for transport.  You’ll be met by one of the medical personnel to help you out of your EVA suit and to receive a Gamma Radiation inoculation. =/\=

Tito: =/\= I have advanced as much work as I could Ensign. You have the data declassified, we have three coordinates to beam it. Just need the final maths.=/\=

Renot: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= We’ll pull you as close to the engineering transporter controls as we can. =/\=

He was already putting out an order to get a nurse to meet him there with a nice radiation inoculation.

Tito: =/\= Don’t worry Ensign we will beam you to the best suited place. You just have to put your skills to good use… Darling…

Sal didn’t laugh.  Externally.  He didn’t even smile.  But he did appreciate the turnaround.

Renot: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= Alright, welcome back, ensign.  Initiating transport now. =/\=

He waited for a short time to get a confirmation that Renot was safely onboard and then he contacted Sherlock back.

Taybrim: =/\= Lieutenant Sherlock, is your team ready to return? =/\=

Sherlock: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= Yes, we’ll pull you back, remove the bomb and then move out of the warp bubble so the Belladonna can come to a full stop. =/\=

Which would make evacuation and Gamma Radiation treatment so much easier.

Sherlock: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= I’m pulling your team to the secondary sickbay so you can get Gamma Radiation inoculations. =/\=

Sherlock: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= Excellent.  Stand by, and welcome back onboard. =/\=

Sherlock: =/\= ?

With all teams back onboard, and Asta having the Impulse drive taken care of, the fires suppressed, and the transwarp transport almost ready to go, there were a few things he wanted to make sure they did.

Taybrim: Lieutenant Tito, can you get a transporter lock on Kent?

Tito: ?

Taybrim: I would like him beamed safely to the brig.  We can do an airborne inoculation for Gamma Radiation.

Tito: ?

Taybrim: As soon as he’s secured, lock onto the bomb.

Tito: ?

Taybrim: =/\= Ensign Renot, welcome back to the Narendra.  How are you doing on the transwarp transporter calculations? =/\=

Renot: =/\= ?

Tito: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= Good work.  Lieutenant Tito, you have the coordinates ready? =/\=

Renot: =/\= ?

Tito: =/\= ?

Taybrim: =/\= Ensign Renot, on your signal… let’s get this bomb off that ship! =/\=

Renot: =/\= ?

Tito: =/\= ?
