(OOC – for briefings, senior staff means all Player characters. Also, I try to avoid ‘Any’ tags whenever possible, but there are a few any tags at the beginning of this. Please add dialogue if you feel your character would respond, but you can also skip them and respond where you are directly tagged. Please when responding tag specific characters and don’t use ‘Any’ as much as possible)

((StarBase 118 – The Hub – Briefing Room))

::Sal Taybrim’s face was etched with worry this morning as the crew filed in for the standard scheduled weekly briefing. He had been hoping to give everyone good news. But he had still not heard back from Raskor. Still there was some good news he had to convey, some welcomes and official announcements.

But now brand new ship sitting in the docking bay.

Maybe it was disappointment more than worry. But the worry was still there. He tried to tell himself that a shakedown cruise full of fussy engineers just took too long. It was a normal thing. But it didn’t erase his worry.

As the crew sat down, there were plenty of breakfast beverages for a variety of cultures available at the table as well as fruit, breakfast sandwiches of various designs and, of course, pastries.::

Taybrim: Good morning everyone! ::He forced a smile on his face:: I’m glad you could all join me this morning. I hope everyone had a restful shore leave. I wanted to start this meeting with some welcomes and introductions. ::He smiled genuinely this time.:: First, I would like to introduce everyone to Lt. Commander Elspeth who joins us as the new executive officer on Ops. Welcome, Commander, I look forward to working with you,

Elspeth: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: Next, I would like everyone the welcome back Lt. Commander Baylen Anders who joins us as our Mission Specialist.

::He gestured towards Anders with a smile.::

Anders: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: Next, please give a warm welcome to our new medical staff. I know most everyone has gotten a chance to meet Ensign Dehnir, but we also have Ensign O’Conner joining us. And we’re very glad to have both of you out there watching our backs.

::He smiled again at the doctors.::

Dehnir/O’Conner: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: Also please give a warm welcome to Lieutenant Solarius McLaren who joins us in Intel. ::He smiled towards Sol::

McLaren: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: As out new, acting chief of science we have Lt. Commander Attikus Rundstrom.

::He smiled, trying to draw attention to Rundstrom and away from the missing former chief Science officer. It was a tough role to fill, and Sal knew that.::

Rundstrom: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: In engineering, I would like everyone to extend a warm welcome to Ensigns Kurt Austin and Kaine Hawkins. ::He grinned at the two young engineers who had done so well on the last mission.::

Austin/Hawkins: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: And last, but not least, I’d like everyone to welcome our Private Will Travis, our new marine liaison

Travis: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: I also have some recognitions to award. I know that our last mission was a harrowing one. But fortunately we have settled affairs with the Bureau of Temporal Investigations and I am able to pass recognitions and congratulations on to my crew. ::He offered a soft smile. The pain of a missing crewmember was still there so his enthusiasm was understated.:: Lieutenant McLaren, Ensign Dehnir and Ensign Braddock, in recognition of being the first members of the Federation to actually enter positive negotiations with the Devidians, a species that before this considered us to be murdering monsters, I award you with the Diplomacy Ribbon. ((OOC – Taelon is also awarded this ribbon, but he’s not here right now…)) I am so proud that my crew was able to reach out to a species in a diplomatic manner and prevent what could have easily been a war.

McLaren/Braddock/Dehnir: ?

Taybrim: Ensigns Austin, O’Conner, Dehnir, Hawkins and Lt. Commander Rundstrom, ((OOC: And Taelon)) your assistance in both radiation inoculation and creating a device that would focus the time vortex were instrumental in getting our away team back. For this I would like to recognize all of you with the Innovation Ribbon.

Austin/O’Conner/Hawkins/ Rundstrom: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: Lt. Commanders Aitas, Trel’lis, Silveira, West. Lieutenant’s Maxwell and Kasun, I want to recognize your brave and selfless actions taken to preserve our past and our future. For all you did and all the sacrifices made I award you the Good Conduct Ribbon, recognizing your bravery and unflinching devotion to everyone on StarBase 118.

Aitas/Silveira/Trel’lis/Maxwell/Kasun: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: And for all of you ((everyone who served in the last mission)) I would like to recognize everyone with the Defense of Temporal Flow Ribbon. I know it is intensely painful to have served so hard and process the loss of a friend, a family member and a companion. But I want you all to know that you are the reason that this base still stand in peace and over 100,000 souls live in harmony. Everyone on this base knows that you are their heroes. And I want you to know that I appreciate everything you have done.

Any: ?

Taybrim: And last, but certainly not least, Ishani Kasun, if you would join me?

Kasun: ?

Taybrim: Lieutenant Kasun, you have been an inspiration to others. You have grown in your role as a department head, mentored and supported your crew and have grown to become one of the finest officers I have served with. It is my pleasure to promote you to the rank of Lt. Commander with all rights and privileges associated with that rank immediately effective. ::He smiled a deep, genuine smile:: Congratulations, Ishani and thank you so much for everything you have done through the past years.

Kasun: ?
