((Deck 4, USS Aurora-A))
S’zurak: Bzzzt. Computer relay. ::shifting his aim:: Bzzzt. Bzzzt.
S’zurak aimed his claw and pretended to disintegrate portions of the main computer. He was relieved to see Box join in, though somewhat reluctantly, with sound effects of his own.
McRoberts: Psheew. Kapeew.
Box broke character.
McRoberts: If we were really attacking, though, we'd probably not want to attack the core indiscriminately. It might, for example, switch off life support.
S’zurak cocked his head, thinking.
S'zurak: That is… true. Though I ssstill wouldn’t put it passst a dedicated sssabateur.
McRoberts: If they didn't know we were here before, they certainly would now.
McRoberts: We might want to get more mobile now. So, should we get the bridge now, or make our escape?
S'zurak: If we’re Romulan, we want to be as annoying as posssible. We esscape.
McRoberts: Makes sense, lead the way.
S'zurak: Thisss way.
They sped off down the hallway, leaving the computer core behind them. Their work at the computer core was complete. Now came the equally important question of whether their hypothetical Romulans could get back off the ship.
McRoberts: ?
Escaping by the same path they had entered would be predictable, but predictability was not necessarily a problem if they could move quickly enough. They had already learned more about the ship than S’zurak had expected from what had begun as little more than pretending to shoot things with their fingers.
Szurak: We should leave them sssomething to remember us by.
He stopped at an intersection and looked around.
Szurak: Hypothetically.
McRoberts: ?
S’zurak nodded approvingly. The turbolift they had just passed would suffice.
Szurak: Looksss like the lift is out of order.
He raised one claw toward the lift controls.
Szurak: Bzzzt.
Then he looked expectantly at Box.
McRoberts: ?
S’zurak gave a satisfied rumble and resumed their retreat toward the shuttlebay. A few minutes later, their imaginary Romulans had successfully escaped aboard their equally imaginary shuttle.
S’zurak was already mentally assembling a list of everything they had encountered along the way: accessible systems, predictable routes, bottlenecks, and places where an intruder could make life considerably more difficult for the crew.
Useful information, considering that next time the Romulans might not be imaginary.
S’zurak: I think we have caused enough hypothetical damage for one day.
McRoberts: ?
S’zurak: And if we were ever captured, I would of courssse insist this was all your plan.
S’zurak stepped back toward the real undamaged turbolift and turned to Box.
S’zurak: Come on. Let usss go tell them how badly we broke their new ship.
McRoberts: ?
