Remember to take some time to let yourself and your mind rest and recharge.’

Yes. A’Mayri did not know if that specific wording was intended to be read into deeply, but she did in fact see her mind and herself as two separate entities that simply worked in tandem to operate a functional system. It was a system that shook two officers around like naughty cats that needed to get along better, shrunk to small proportions in a room full of adventurous dangers, helped a newly close friend uncover parts of his past, and last but not least- become surrounded in love when it was the strongest emotion she was not internally wired or prepared for.

Maybe she did need rest. She was more than willing to help, but the unexpected diversion of power from her main control systems to supercharge an auxiliary third wheel system drained her battery. Perhaps organizing her quarters how she would actually like it rather than maintain its functionality would be pleasant. She could recalibrate then eventually check in on her compatriots and ensure logical progress had been made in whatever endeavors they all had gotten themselves into.

Foster: I know you’ll do a good job. Be confident in your skills and abilities.

A’Mayri knew that the Andorion would not say such things if there wasn’t evidence to bring about the supportive comment. It only made sense that a starfleet officer should be confident after years of training and being surrounded by a highly skilled group of officers with mostly the same goals.

Her CO’s smile was warm, and everything he had said so far had not made her feel unwelcomed, feel anything was disingenuous, and that he did genuinely care about her well being and input.

She remained silent for a moment, the tribble on Wyn’s desk purring up a fluffy storm.

A’Mayri: I- ::eyes flickered to the orange tribble on the desk:: Are your therapy tribbles open for future interactions?

He tipped his antennae forward in a nod and plucked the fluffy orange one, holding it out. The sudden action made A’Mayri’s hands instinctively reach out to carefully receive and hold the tribble in her arms.

Foster: Oh yeah, they do wonders for your autonomic nervous system. This one’s Lydia.

The tribble cooed gently and A’Maryi knew her genuine weakness for soft things and creatures would triumph over her need to keep the meeting just purely efficient. Her sensitive hands were still on Lydia’s orange fluffy puff of a figure before her fingers started to brush through their fur.

A’Mayri: I remember the small lesson we received on the unique evolution and biology of Tribbles in my original course application of xenobiology for my Taxonomy course. I wasn’t able to complete the course work, so I must regretfully admit I never fully followed through or completed the knowledge applications.

Foster: Tribbles are intersexed, able to reproduce asexually – so I just give them names and call them whatever.  And actually, every few years, I need to selectively breed new offspring because my therapy tribbles have a lifespan of 2-5 years.  So That’s Lydia number three?  She’s especially fuzzy.

Indeed, Lydia was a majestic ball of fluff with deep orange fur that reminded the half Vulcan of swirled orange candy and ‘sodas’ she had seen passing fleet members consume on the base.

A’Mayri: I had not expected this meeting to roughly conclude and reach the points we had made today sir, but in that same process I must also admit with honesty that I had not approached this meeting with any set expectations. I am satisfied with how the conversation carried and respect the structure of its information collection and socialization exposure.

Foster: I like these talks ::he admitted pleasantly:: So if you want to keep doing a check in after each mission, you can give the tribbles some attention and we can touch base.

A’Mayri: ::small nod, head lowered to watch the Tribble gently roll around in her lap:: That…would be most advantageous and beneficial sir, thank you. I would like to continue these checkin’s, post missions.

Foster: Beyond that – it’s all about enjoying the rest of shore leave.  We’ll have a crew party before the next mission, and then we’ll see what else Starfleet has in store for us.

A’Mayri: Oh yes, the crew party. If it is to be anything like the one previously hosted on Raskor II…I suspect it will be enjoyable with the crew.

Foster: ?

A’Mayri almost smiled at what he said, and indulged in holding Lydia number three for a few more breaths. Her last deep sigh paired with the resonating purr lowered her postured shoulders just an inch before she carefully returned the Tribble back to Wyn’s hands.

A’Mayri: I believe that should conclude our meeting for today sir. ::small pause before carefully standing up while straightening her clothes:: –If there is nothing else you wish to discuss or inquire for– ::she quickly added while settling the momentary fluttered expression:: I hope you have enjoyed your shore leave as well.

She had meant well! That she understood his time was important and that he most likely had other people to meet with and tasks to complete. A’Mayri meant to sound efficient but realized in the moment she could have come off as telling her commanding officer what to do

Foster: ?

A’Maryi: Thank you sir. ::Recollected expression, lifting her hand to complete a Vulcan salute and a small respectful nod for her parting gesture:: Live long and prosper.

Foster: ?

A'Mayri lowered her salute to neatly fold her hands in front of her as she offered another small nod to accept his parting. The last few moments of shared silence felt satisfactory and not empty before she adjusted her seat back into its original position just millimeters away. She stared at the seat, then at Wyn once more before lightly clearing her throat and completing a crip about face movement to travel back through his spacious office and back out into the base.

For once on her shore leave, she a day away from dusty jefferies tubes and instead sat in her quarters to unpack her new belongings and make the space feel like home.

-End Scene for A'Mayri-

((OOC: I feel that this is a good end scene for her but feel free to add more tags! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to have her interact and talk with Wyn!))
