((The I’vish Gallery, Shi’Kahr District, Starbase 118))

Madison took a seat at one of the tables with Haukea. It was a lovely setting in the theater and she watched as everyone made their entrances. She had high hopes that the evening's events would continue to be intriguing. After a few moments, Commander Fairhug walked up on the stage and began his address to the crew.

Fairhug: Welcome, everyone, to the I'vish Gallery and to Ops’ latest awards ceremony. I'm sure you'll all agree that this is a very appropriate venue and if you haven't spent much time in the Shi'Kahr District before, I'm sure this evening will make a lasting impression.

She had made a valiant effort to ensure that the venue was the right fit for the ceremony. It was nice to hear that her Commanding Officer seemed to be pleased with the choice.

Fairhug: First of all, I want to say thank you, once again, to you all.

The thank you was appreciated, because there was a lot of work put into the event. It was quite interesting to set it all up with the Vulcan supervisors of the gallery.

Fairhug: Our last mission was a particularly stressful one. There were times when I thought, as I'm sure some of you must have, that we might not make it back to the base at all. But as always, this crew never gives up and *always* finds a way.

She raised her glass of champagne in conjunction with Fairhug. The cheers were customary for these special crew gatherings. The mission certainly was stressful being that she was almost sucked into a black hole and eventually trapped in the transporter buffer in hopes that the Narendra crew would find her, Ross, and company.

Fairhug: So, cheers! To you all.

Madison smiled brilliantly as she enjoyed a little crew camaraderie.

Marsh: Cheers!

Fairhug: As you all know, we have lost some of our colleagues recently. Fortunately, only to other postings, but their absence is still felt, of course. ::pausing:: Lieutenants Tito and Kreshkova are participating in the launch of the USS Thor and Lieutenant Korras has offered his services to USS Khitomer in their struggle against a new and powerful enemy. ::raising his glass again:: We wish them all well in their new roles and hope to serve with them again one day.

Unfortunately, Madison did not have time to say goodbyes to Tito, Kreshkova, and Korras. She had a lot of work to do getting her condominium set up on Velestusand the transfers were sudden. However, she did wish them all the best in their future endeavors in Starfleet. She nudged Haukea's shoulder discreetly and spoke in a low tone to avoid distracting the rest of the attendees.

Marsh: It's too bad I wasn't able to wish them the very best. I'll have to send them messages at some point this week.

Fairhug: Now, while some fine officers have departed, others have arrived. It is always a pleasure to be able to introduce new crew at a ceremony such as this, so please, give a warm welcome to ::holding out a hand indicate the Andorian:: Ensign Mi'shune sh'Sonora, our new Helm Officer.

She looked over the Andorian, they had not met, but she was sure that they would bump into one another eventually. Out of respect, she clapped her hands to welcome the new Ensign.

sh'Sonora: Response

Fairhug: Also, Ensign Lyra Voss, a new addition to the Science department.

Lyra Voss would be working in the Science Department with her. It was a pleasure to welcome her to Starbase 118 and provide her with lovely quarters with a fantastic view of the cosmos. Her intuition told her that the freshly minted Ensign had potential to make an impact on her first posting. Madison applauded Voss in full support.

Marsh: Welcome Lyra!

Any: Response

Voss: Response

Fairhug: ::another slight turn:: Ensign Arlo Zara, who will be joining the Engineering team.

She clapped her hands together for the Ensign in Engineering. Madison had an appreciation for Engineers and the work that they did every day to support both the Starbase and the Narendra. It was a field that she was not particularly interested in, but was pleased to see additional crew members added in the department.

Zara: Response

Fairhug: And last but not least, Ensign James Taylor. Another much needed Engineer.

Two engineers, she wondered who would be the Assistant Chief Engineer first. It would be interesting to see if either of them had the desire to work towards the role. She thought of the past Chief Engineers and missed both of them dearly. She put her hands together politely to recognize the new member of the Starbase 118 crew. There were several fresh faces there that night and she couldn't wait to see what they would do in the future.

Any: Response

Taylor: Response

Fairhug: It is my honour to welcome you all to StarBase One-One-Eight as newly minted Ensigns. I hope that your careers will be long and successful and I look forward to getting to know you all as time goes by.

Madison beamed with delight and applauded. Hopefully each of them would find their way and do whatever they loved for their careers. She would be there to support each of them if they ever needed it.

Any: Response
