Voss: I’d like to… to try to keep the creature apprised of our actions. I don’t know how effective it’ll be, but I think it’s worth a shot.

Sol looked over and nodded.

McLaren: That is probably a good idea... but be careful.

Kel: And whatever data we pull in… even partial scans… I can cross-reference with the neurological patterns we’ve already seen. If the station is causing further harm to the entity, the stress signature should be unmistakable.

Voss: ::sending her data to McLaren’s console:: Commander, what do you think of this placement for the probe? We have a class-5 reconnaissance probe on board that should be able to avoid detection from here.

Sol scanned the information she had been sent, eyes tracking over the words. She nodded.

McLaren: That looks like a good a spot as any.

She nodded and made a few final adjustments.

Voss: Ready for launch?

McLaren: Ready.

Kel: ?

Sol kept an eye on Lyra as she did whatever it was she needed to do to attempt commune with the entitiy. This was going to be a strange report when the mission was all said and done.

Kel: ?

Voss: ::shaking her head to clear it:: I’m all right, I… yeah, I won’t try that again unless it’s absolutely necessary. I think we can safely say it’s watching us very closely. Let’s… let’s hope this gives us some of the information we need.

There was a dull thump throughout the bridge as the proble launcher launched the probe.

McLaren: Well now we just have to hope that this probe will give us what we need.

Kel: ?

Sol watched on the sensors as the probe moved into the position it had been directed to. It took several moments before data began to stream back. She frowned slightly. The station was new, but not overly so.

McLaren: If this data is right... the hull of this station has been in this nebula for atleast 20 months... which fits the time line.

Kel/Voss: Response?

She nodded, standing. She moved to one of the consoles ringing around the bridge, tapping in a few commands. She looked over as she did.

McLaren: I don't see many internal spaces given the stations size... I wonder if this is how theyve managed to keep whatever crew it needs aboard it for any meaningful length of time. Do we have any readings on lifesigns?

Kel/Voss: Response?

McLaren: Id be surprised if they haven't already seen us... they probably think we cant see them... and Im happy for them to continue thinking that for the moment. Gives us time to act...

Kel/Voss: Response?

McLaren: If we can disable the station in some way...that would be the best... but it looks like its shielding is enhanced... and its power systems are oversized for a station of its size.

Kel/Voss: Response?
