((Provisional Science Lab - MTF Maximum Thrusters))

A’Mayri eventually situated herself beside Voss, not fully strapped in but she trusted her own strength to be enough to keep her semi secure in her seat. Ross was somewhat stabilized– and she found herself able to relax just a touch. Despite knowing everyone was safe, she felt herself slightly on edge.

The instinct to trust the ship and its capabilities was one of the major factors as to why she felt somewhat steady. That, and relief that none of the equipment she had bolted down would crush one of her teammates before they all truly started their work. That would perhaps draw a rather unpleasant reaction from the half Vulcan.

Voss: ::taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly:: I’m never taking inertial dampeners for granted ever again.

A'Mayri: ::hand gripping one of the straps, white knuckled despite her mostly calm expression:: I concur.

Only when the MTF had touched down and settled back against its own framing did A’Mayri finally loosened her grip.

Ross: Everything in one piece? ::he threw a quick gaze around the room, but apart from a few crates and tools, everything seemed to be in order:: Excellent. I'll connect with the ground teams to make sure we'll get our hands on some fresh resources.

As A’Mayri finally stood, she just as quickly hovered back over when Voss had plopped into her seat with an expression she surmised was related to motion sickness. Her hands lifted, eyes flickering over her science officer when she realized that Ross had stepped away into the corridor. When the Betazoid had lifted her hands up with the almost human and universal sign of ‘I am well and alright’, she straightened back up to give her more space to reorient herself and breathe.

Voss: Okay, well! We’re starting off with a bang, I guess!

She was only some inches taller than her higher ranking officer, but the shoes they both wore created a small battle of the heights. Voss’s boots had added some height while her own more flat footed shoes kept her around the same.

A'Mayri: A most impressive bang. ::Small pause, lowering her head with a small tilt, hands folded neatly behind her:: Would you perhaps require a trip to our CMO? As impressive as your self guided recovery was, caution is always recommended.

Voss: Oh I’m… thank you, but I’m all right. I always get a little space sick without a viewport. ::with a small grin:: I’m requesting a window seat next time.

A’Mayri: oO A window seat? There are no view ports withi– ah. Humor. Her grin would suggest such intention.Oo That…is a most amusing and reasonable request.

Voss: That was quick-thinking to protect the core. Hopefully we’re on steadier –

Accepting her scarf back with a polite thank you, she noted the small hole that had torn into it before wrapping and securing the material around her shoulders once more. She followed behind Voss and stood beside her and the Triple D. When the science officer's expression focused, A’Mayri remained near the dome with her attention focused on the power readings.

Voss had started controlled and calculated movements, core in hand as she changed her proximate positioning with the core in her hands.

A’Mayri: ::pausing when Voss paused, eyes following her gaze to the diagnostic panel:: You and the core’s proximity is…

Voss: Did you see that? It’s the tiniest little pulse, but I think there’s an energy fluctuation when this core gets close enough to the other core.

A’Mayri: I indeed saw such energy fluctuations. Equipment interference can be eliminated.

Voss: Could you please grab the other core out of the ionization chamber? Do you see a change when it comes within a certain range of the other cores in the dome?

A’Mayri: Of course, one moment. ::carefully making her way to the ionization chamber::

Her hands made quick work as she pulled up the chamber monitor and screen back online. She swiped through the different read out screens until she was able to summon the same reading diagnostic strands that did indeed mirror the changes in the dome. With closer proximity– the output of readable energy had increased despite the inert core testing negative.

It hadn’t quite felt magnetic in a way similar materials would bind themselves together– but the pull and draw of power was undeniable.

A’Mayri synched her data padd to the device before she made her way back beside Voss, both young women now huddled around the Dome and Death of Despair.

Voss: Look at this! It’s barely barely above baseline, but the cores are affecting each other. Even the inert ones. They should be entirely neutralized, but something is causing a noticeable blip. With fresh cores, I bet it’s even more noticeable.

A’Mayri: ::eyes still trained on her pad, flickering to the dome readouts then back:: Voss is correct, increased activity was registered within the ionization chamber. A proximity activation– perhaps a power synchronization or draw.

The ease of calling her fellow officer by just her last name made A’Mayri pause for a moment before she moved on with an attempt to appear ‘blended in’ the civilian disguises– despite having been strict with professional titles thus far. Had it been the lingering worry? Perhaps a moment of having been too excited from this new observation? She would not linger on the thought for too long, there was much to be discovered still.

Ross: ?

Voss: ::suddenly remembering why Evan had left the room in the first place:: Oh! Are we… what is… do we just walk in and buy some cores? I guess that’s what the Temurians will be expecting?

A’Mayri: ::Finally looking up, dark brown eyes shifting between Voss and Ross with careful observation:: Guidance would be appreciated. I had not anticipated directly collecting and buying such materials ourselves.

Ross: ?

Her outfit, although considered basic work wear for some of her people, could come off as odd if the company they were representing had an intended dress code for their engineers. She could appear to be the business endeavor’s quality of materials worker? The engineer assigned to the training group to confirm the validity of the components and resources sourced for the cores and work? Voss looked the ever professional science officer– such a business endeavour's success would increase with this.

A’Mayri: Confirmed contact with the Temurian traders is optimal. If we are to interact with them in person, we may be able to gauge what their understanding of the cores and source materials are. ::small self nod::

Voss/Ross: ?

A’Mayri: Yes, exactly that. If they only show basic levels of product comprehension, it would highlight what we can deduce from our previous theories of how production and distribution is completed. ::pause mid speech for a moment::

Voss/Ross: ?

A’Mayri: –while also considering how honest they may be with strange unknown traders, correct. If unable to ascertain their intentions– all data we could collect would be beneficial for science, engineering and intelligence.

Padd tucked back away, A’Mayri journeyed back to the ionization chamber to secure its holdings and lock out the equipment as they all discussed the next part of their plan.

Voss/Ross: ?
