(( The Angry Pigeon ))

S’zurak: You are free now. Try not to get captured again.

McLaren: Our colleagues will take you the rest of the way home.

Sol helped a few of the Temurians disembark, then sealed the hatch behind them again.

Munshi: ::Watching the airlock seal with a satisfied finality, Alok felt a strange weight lift from his shoulders. He turned back to the navigation console, his mind shifting gears back to the mission's larger tactical picture.:: Docking clamps disengaged. The Pigeon is ready for the next vector, Commander.

McLaren: Ok... Wyn wanted us to do a flyby of the planet... check for any lifesigns or indications of if the crew of the marauder escaped there.

Munshi: ::Tapping into the sensor grid to calibrate long-range sweeps, his brow furrowed as he analyzed the orbital drift patterns.:: Agreed. If Reence managed to slip away, their escape pod—or any secondary vessel—would have left a distinct thermal signature on the atmospheric entry point. I’ll calibrate for high-sensitivity heat-bloom detection. If there's anyone down there, they won't be able to hide their thermal wake.

S`zurak: Ready for a new hunt?

She shrugged.

McLaren: Well, with luck it'll just be a quick fly by and there wont be anything down there... but we should still give it a look.

Munshi: Luck is a luxury for the unprepared, Commander. I’d prefer to rely on the sensor sweep. I can slave the primary arrays to the Thrusters' comm-link now so they can monitor our findings in real-time.

McLaren: Let's keep an eye out for any other ships too... hopefully there are no more surprises.

Munshi: I have the passive arrays at maximum aperture. If anything else is out here—even a cloaked signature with a minor gravitational distortion—it will show up on our telemetry. We’re ready to move.

S`zurak: Sensorsss set to all frequencies.

McLaren/Munshi: Response?

The pigeon departed and made way into the upper atmosphere. The ground below swept past as the Pigeon maintained a constant high velocity in its high orbit.

S’zurak’s thoughts returned to their mission as a whole and how they had narrowly escaped an Orion Marauder in this shuttle. It had rescued 30 Temurians,. And now was doing additional reconnaissance.

S’zurak: You’ve done well, Pigeon ::Patting the console::

McLaren/Munshi: Response?

S’zurak: What? ::Obviously embarrassed:: I was just… offering the shuttle sssome encouragement. It hasss performed admirably today.

McLaren/Munshi: Response?
