sh’Sonora: I’ll let you all have the first pick. Besides… ::She looked over at the Ferasa.:: …it’d all pale in comparison, and she’s on blocks.

A’Mayri: I would like to ride alongside Ensign sh’Sonora if possible sir, and if you are alright with it of course ::Looks towards Mi’shune::

Mi’shune’s antennae perked up, taken by surprise when A’Mayri’s attention was focused on her! Unsure why she was in the Vulcanoid’s crosshairs, the act of bravado fell apart into mere nervous bluster.

sh’Sonora: I mean… umm… yes! Of course! Yes! I could always use a good engineer!

sh’Sonora’s Inner Dialogue: oO Uh oh, somebody’s overdrawn on their latnium account. Now you’re gonna have to prove your rather grandiose claims. Too bad Vulcan’s are well known for intellectually eviscerating hyperbole-prone braggarts… Oo

sh’Sonora: oO Quiet brain! Oo

Ysatch: Well if you two are pairing up, how about the Lieutenant and I take the Klingon Condor and then Munshi, you can join either group?

Munshi/Zel: ?

sh’Sonora: oO Nonono, don’t leave me alone with the logician…Oo

Fortunes were looking less favorable for Mi’shune as A’Mayri’s shadow, Tori Ysatch, turned his attention to the Lieutenant, trying to garner his attention. It left Mi’shune to awkwardly steal a glance or two at her new partner, thanking the gods that antennae movements were not always interpreted by those without them. It was as if her biggest giveaway hardly registered.

Her antennae swiveled curiously at her Vulcanoid compatriot, her eyes shifting glances, unnoticed by the chrome tint of her shades.

sh’Sonora’s Inner Dialogue: oO She’s pretty you know. Oo

sh’Sonora: oO Shut it. Oo

sh’Sonora: oO Kind of like that one woman you knew at the academy. What’s her name? From the flight program? Oo

sh’Sonora: oO V’lol Now shut it. Oo

sh’Sonora’s Inner Dialogue: oO I swear if I didn’t know you better, and I do, that you have a thing for… Oo

sh’Sonora: oO FOCUS! Ysatch has something to say. Oo

Ysatch: The lieutenant had flagged the Klingon ship as a potential choice and I've always appreciated Klingon systems. They're simple and blunt, but that's because engineering knowledge in the Empire isn't -- what's the polite way to say this -- evenly distributed. It has to work for a warrior who thinks regular maintenance is a job for a petaQ. ::blushes:: Sorry for swearing.

sh’Sonora: ::Scoffs:: Colorful language is one of the essential first lessons in any linguistics study, am I right? ::chuckles::

Munshi/Zel: ?

A’Mayri: Even if this only is categorized as a test run, it is exciting to be able to endeavor on a flight and engineering observation outside of schooling. A first official and non official flight.

Ysatch: ::walking backwards towards the Klingon ship:: Last one out of the hangar owes a round of raktajinos.

sh’Sonora: Yaaaheeee!!! ::She clicks her heels and starts to dash. She waves over the A’Mayri.:: We’ll take the MaxThrust! Let’s go!

Finally, the relieved Andorian could disguise her distraction with another distraction! Skidding to a stop, she punched the cargo bay door button and rolled into the MaxThruster before the bay door could fully end its hydraulic cycle and lower to the tarmac. Her fingers switched on lights and powered up systems as naturally as she’d owned the ship her entire life.

It wasn’t far off from her experiences as the daughter of an agricultural shipping magnate. She’d been the curious one whenever  her family visited their spaceport assets. Starships were in her blue blood. Starships were life.

One light didn’t turn on because the light panel shifted to the left as result of an improvised repair, but she didn’t let it slow her down. She was in the pilot seat, spinning gleefully in it as A’Mayri caught up.

sh’Sonora: Alright my fellow ensign, are you ready to blast the plasma exhaust vents off this beast?

A’Mayri: ?

sh’Sonora: Ensign, You’ve made a very good point. I promise to only half-blast off the plasma exhaust vents. Besides, we’ll probably be responsible for maintenance if I do. Anyways, safety first! Buckle up and we’ll pre-flight!

A’Mayri: ?

Flipping switches and activating system was second nature to the cocky Andorian pilot. She played the controls like a pianist on a top-of-the-line Steinway & Sons baby grand. People were awkward, unpredictable, silly, and so were her reactions to them. A space vessel, like the rumbling muscle-shuttle like the MaxThruster under her fingers, was far from an unknown variable.

sh’Sonora: =/\=Ensign sh’Sonora here, callsign ‘Sparrow’. Undergoing pre-flight procedures. Credit to you, Lieutenant Zel. You have this ship purring like a Sehlat.=/\=

Any: ?
