Tito: Truth be told the Syndicate is a complicated foe.

That it was.

That is so was.

The Syndicate was a multifaceted organization, from the parts that were almost legitimate to the oens that wallowed in darkness.  And it had everything from tyrannical rulers to prift motivated hedonists and everything in between

Nothing was simple nor straightforward where the Syndicate was concerned.

Taybrim: So formerly, when the Saan were in the area they appointed the overseer.  Now the station overseer pays rent to the Saan family.  That’s how a donor could step in and pay the station off.  The Syndicate won’t interfere because they’ve been handsomely paid to not care what Terra Prime does.

Sera:  ::looking thoughtful::  So what are our overreaching goals with this trip, Commodore?  Is it simply to obtain information in order to infiltrate the station undetected, or are we to take a farther-reaching approach and return this man to his position of leadership within an obviously corrupt installation?

Tito: That appears to be Dalreth’s intentions.

He nodded gently to Tito.

Taybrim: Allowing Dalreth to return to his position of power is a bargaining chip that I am willing to use.  That is what he wants.  And, admittedly he’s the devil we know.

One of his Human academy friends might have coined him ‘the Diet Coke of evil.’

Taybrim: Our main goal is to remove Terra Prime from Miranda VII and end the cult’s actions in the Trinity Sector.  So our acute goal here is to gain enough information on Miranda VII to be able to infiltrate it and get the advantage on Terra Prime.  Comparing Terra Prime to Vintam Dalreth is like comparing an enraged Delravian murder-cat to an unhappy Terran housecat.  Sure he has claws, but he’s predictable and knows enough to mind the rules of the Klingon Empire and the Federation that surrounds him.

Would he continue to allow illegal activity?  Sure.  But there were also strict limits on what was not allowed.  Dalreth hated angering the Klingons.  Nobody wanted the Klingon hanging around their space station on patrol.  And he disliked angering Starfleet.  They were a nosy bunch who could cause an awful lot of trouble.

So he would only allow illegal activity that would not directly raise the ire of his big bad neighbors.

Sera:  Thank you both for your responses.  I have numerous other questions, however…I will not…cease to function if they are not adequately answered at this time.

Tito: Is there a set meeting point?

He nodded an assent.

Taybrim: Yes, we’ll meet Dalreth in the Drellian Embassy in Kapitol City.

Kapitol, with a K.  Someone was cheeky when they named it.

Tito: Should we prepare a cover story?

Taybrim: For Dalreth – no.  He knows who we are.  But for everyone else?  Yes, we’ll be playing the part of wealthy merchants.

Sera: response

Tito: I am good with anything either of you might think, we just need to make it consistent.

Taybrim: Then we’ll keep it simple.  We’re a trio of trade negotiators representing the mercantile interest of Tallus VI. The Tallus system is rich in Ditridium, which the Drellians favor for their housings of their warp engines to increase range and efficiency.

Tito/Sera: response

Taybrim: Exactly.  We don’t need to give many details.  Just remember we’re there to broker a deal with Vintam Dalreth.  If they press, it’s the ditridium deal.

Tito/Sera: response

Sal didn’t expect that there would be much interference.  The Drellian embassy was a fairly small embassy, nestled amongst a variety of other embassies on Sannin VII.  It was a place for business meetings and really no one cared if they negotiated ditridium or Miranda VII.

As long as they negotiated and everything stayed peaceful, the local authorities didn’t put their noses into much of anything.

((OOC – happy to continue here if there are more tags but hopping ahead to Sannin VII))

((Kapitol City – Embassy District – Sannin VII))

The Embassy district of the capital – well, Kapitol – city on Sannin VII was laid out like a compass with the four major embassies at each cardinal point and a myriad of smaller ones scattered around filling in the gaps.

The four main embassies were Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Gorn.  Main meant large buildings, but not necessarily large staffs.  The Federation and Klingon embassies were the only two that were actually very well staffed and busy.  The others were there more for prestige and show but they ran on a skeleton crew of old diplomats who were shoved out of the way on Sannin VII.

The city was the hub of trade for Sannin VII and it was known as a bustling center of commerce.  Foot traffic was pretty high, and shuttle traffic was busy.  There was a shipyards where a large amount of small independent ships were docked, loaded, launched and sheltered.  They landed the MTF and were directed to park it in a bay before taking a tram into the city itself.

The Drellian Embassy was a nicely decorated stone building on the south end, close to the Bajoran Embassy.  It was festooned with orange and green flags and showed off some attractive sculpture work of the Drellian goddesses of commerce and fortune.

Nobody questioned their cover story, and the Drellian aide at the front said that Vintam Dalreth expected them.

They were led into the back of the embassy where there was an open-air skylight that boasted a handcrafted waterfall that fell onto heated stones, giving this back garden area a tropical sauna feeling.  It was very warm, very moist and full of fat flowering blossoms that scented the air with a lightly spiced floral perfume.

Vintam Dalreth was a Drellian male, middle ages, with slick wavy black hair and dark eyes, and a flattering smile.  He has reasonably attractive and well toned, wearing a soft velvety maroon robe that was tied at the waist.  He had been dipping his feet into the heated pool beneath the waterfall but he wiped them and stood up as the guests entered.

Dalreth: I’m glad you chose to accept my hospitality.  ::He smiled wider.  It was a salesman’s sort of smile.  A bit oily, but not hostile.::

Taybrim: Vintam Dalreth.  You look like you escaped the ministrations of Terra Prime unscathed.

Dalreth: Only by the virtue of not being in the right place at the right time.

Tito/Sera: ?

Sal introduced everyone by their cover names (I will add if you sim a preferred name to be used) and he went simply by Sal.  Dalreth knew who he was.

Dalreth: You must have had a long trip… ::he fanned his hands outward and gestured for two servers to come forward:: Would you like any refreshments?

The two servers were young Drellians – one male and one female.  Both were very fit and attractive, wearing what could be called swimwear that emphasized their good physiques.  They stepped forward and smiled – that was a practiced, professional smile.  They were clearly not slaves, but staff.  Well trained staff at that.

Tito/Sera: ?

Dalreth: Come now, I have good beverages and fresh fruits, and I gain nothing by making you ill by feeding you something tainted.

Tito/Sera: ?
