((Cabo Beach – Little Risa – StarBase 118))
With welcomes completed, Sal fished out the little rosewood boxes he had waiting for everyone. They had the benefit of having a fairly relaxed last mission and what could have been a catastrophe with poison in the Spring Wine was quickly controlled and an antidote quickly administered.
He was proud of his crew that even in the most unexpected moments they were able to act quickly and save lives. Or in this case keep everyone safe and save face.
Taybrim: I know we have had some unusual adventures since last we gathered. But I am pleased to recognize the efforts of the crew of Starbase 118. Working quickly you all kept your fellow officers and many civilians safe while working on an antidote for a surprise contamination of the drinks at the Gratitude Festival. The quick release of the antidote as well as our help in supporting the Bajoran Temple helped make this year’s gratitude festival a great success. Vedek Lova gave her personal appreciation for the efforts of each and every one of you.
Maybe some would rather forget the Gratitude festival for getting drugged when one wasn’t expecting it was never fun But the crew had endured the circumstances and navigated through with no serious injuries of anyone on the station.

Taybrim: I want to formally recognize Commander McLaren, Lieutenant Nalni, Ensigns Dastrup, Eriica, O’Grady and Cadet Harper with the Innovation ribbon for their work in bringing the antidote to quick fruition.
McLaren/Nalni/(Others?): ?

Taybrim: And I want to give me thanks to everyone who helped distribute the antidote. I know many of you returned directly to the festival after receiving your own dose and that helped build positive community relationships with the civilians on StarBase 118 and the guests.

He settled back and looked to the crew around him
Taybrim: Lieutenant Meeks, can you please join me?
Meeks: ?
Sal smiled gently, greeting the marine warmly. He knew Meeks had struggled with the affect of the contaminant. But this was not about a drug beyond his control; but a record of work that spanned far past that. Sal needed a good commander of the 292nd, now more than ever and he believed that Meeks was up to the task. This meant he needed to officially back that up and give Meeks the rank that would allow him to push the Iron Jaegers forward.
Taybrim: Lieutenant, you have a strong record and a growing leadership talent. I know the Gratitude Festival was not a fine moment for many of us, myself included. But I am trusting the strong work you have done so far to carry you forward. I hereby promote you to the rank of Marine Captain, and Marine CO of StarBase 118 292nd Iron Jaegers, with all the rights and responsibilities therein.
Meeks: ?

Sal smiled, but there was a sobriety in his calm, reassuring look.
Taybrim: We will be working together more closely moving forward, Captain. I look forward to some long and interesting discussions. ::hints of things brewing out there in the Trinity Sector.:: But for tonight, congratulations! You have done well and I look forward to seeing the 292 flourish under your direction.
He meant this, deeply. Meeks was an officer with limitless potential. He offered out the rosewood box and a warm hand to shake.

As the applause died down, Sal looked to the gathered once again.
Taybrim: And may I have Counselor Yael please join me?
Yael: ?
Taybrim: Counselor, you have endured through many hardships and still connected with this crew on a deep and meaningful level. They already speak of you kindly and I can see the bonds you have formed with them. As a counselor myself I know how critical this is to the mental wellbeing of the crew. I applaud your work so far, and I hereby promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade with all the rights and responsibilities therein.
Yael: ?
Any: ?
Sal smiled warmly, not offering to shake this time unless Yael specifically made a gesture for it. Tailoring his congratulations to each crew differently.
Taybrim: Thank you for the work you have done, Lieutenant, and congratulations!
Yael: ?
Any: ?
Sal looked up to the gathered once again and smiled gently.
Taybrim: And once again, thank you to each and every one of you. You all make up an incredible crew to work with and I hope that with each mission that we can grow closer together and help support one another. Thank you all.
Any: ?
Taybrim: And I’m done with fancy words now, it’s time to party!
