Taybrim: Do you hear that?

As Haukea led them further through the crowd, the band began playing.

Willow: The song?

Traditional Risian ballads, holding a tempo of andante, leveling around 100 beats per minute, used a variety of musical instruments and techniques to create a magical, mystical and romantic atmosphere. A large majority of traditional Risian ballads contained at least one of four elements, voice, drone (a single note held), drum or strings. Utilizing a combination of these elements many a tale was sung of sea voyages, ancient gods, along with the moon. And currently, like a whisper on the wind a bright, sweet melody was crescendoing through the crowd.

Stendhal: Is a beautiful song! ::she murmured, a soft smile playing on her lips.:: The melody is more than just pleasant; it's as if it's woven from threads of warmth, delicately embracing the soul.

Risian music held a fascination like that of most cultural and traditional human music. Mysterious tones, and perfect chords, leading to the creation of a magical atmosphere. A blanket of sound that wrapped around an individual leading to smiles, and warmth like sunshine, such as that appeared on Sal’s face.

Taybrim: I don’t think I could have describe it any more beautifully, Counselor. ::he paused, rocking on his feet with warmth and camaraderie humming through his veins.::  What is it?

Willow: It is a Risian ballad but not one I am intimately familiar with.

Many Risian ballads, having similar musical qualities, sounded alike on the surface. Yet underneath the meaning, intricacies of the melody, were different. Even so, many cultures and species found agreement in the fact that Risian’s wrote some of the most beautiful ballads in the known universe.

Stendhal: We should really extend an invitation to someone else. ::She suggested thoughtfully, her gaze wandering over the gathering.:: It feels like a moment meant to be shared, to be embraced with another's presence. There's a certain magic in the air tonight that begs to be experienced by more than just us. It's almost as if the very fabric of this moment yearns for the company of another soul, someone to partake in the beauty of this experience and weave their own story into the tapestry of this evening.

Haukea’s first thought was to invite Madison Marsh to join them. However, while the Risian held immense affection towards the blond doctor, she didn’t want to smother the other woman. Nevertheless, based on Sal’s own charming grin, he had someone in mind.

Taybrim: Well, when you put it that way…did you want to make the call?

Stendhal: I'll let you make the call! I'm shy!

Sal’s dark iris sparkled knowingly.

Taybrim: Any suggestions Willow?

Willow: I do have an individual in mind. However, we have plans for later so I’ll leave it up to you.

Sal, having the decision thrown back to him, appeared surprised, if only slightly. In other words he was eager and willing to accept the challenge, pondering who to give a call. Haukea wondered as well, anticipation high on who would be chosen.

Taybrim: =/\= Sal to Solaris… =/\=

Solaris, a woman that Haukea was hesitant to say she had met before. Nevertheless, Haukea was interested to hear what she would have to say regarding the invitation to join them.

McLaren: =/\= Sal, what can I do for you? =/\=

Stendhal: Response

Taybrim: =/\= There is the most amazing Lunar festival going on down in Little Risa. You should join us, Sol! =/\=

Despite not being Risian himself Sal, as indicated by his voice, held a great deal of affection towards the Risian festival. Haukea was proud of that. Proud to share her culture with others.

McLaren: =/\= There are drinks? =/\=

Willow: ::raising her voice to he heard:: Music too!

Stendhal: Response

Taybrim: =/\= Of course there are drinks! There are drinks and music and warm sand and good friends!  What more could one want? =/\=

McLaren: =/\= Alright.... you've convinced me! I'll be there shortly. =/\=

Willow: Alright! ::Her voice held a great deal of enthusiasm, excited for the other woman to join them::

Stendhal: Response

McLaren, eventually joining them, walked with confidence over the sand towards them. Haukea herself was amazed at her confidence since she was wearing a dress and heels in such a casual environment. Granted, the Risian herself was dressed entirely for the beach, hardly covered at all aside from her thin black robe.

McLaren: Hey!

Willow: Welcome. Glad you could join us.

Taybrim/Stendhal: Response

McLaren: So what's this festival all about?

Willow: The moon. The harvest. Community!

Taybrim/Stendhal: Response

McLaren: I take it you've been enjoying yourselves?

Willow: As you should. ::She directed the comment towards McLaren, though not as a derogatory statement:: Don’t overwork yourself. Overworked officers can pose a security risk. ::Haukea’s voice was cheerful in nature::

Taybrim/Stendhal/McLaren: Response

Willow: Anyway, come have a seat. Enjoy the music. They were playing some Risian ballads before you arrived.

Taybrim/Stendhal/McLaren: Response

Willow: So what have you been up to this shore leave?
