((U.S.S Garuda - Sickbay))

::Jade sat in the sickbay of the strange, vast Galaxy class ship. She was lying on a biobed. A medic was looking at her injury. She wondered what had become of Captain Kells and the even the Mercury. Across the room, she saw a Caitian officer move slowly towards her. She remembered him as an Ensign when she last served on the Mercury.::

MEI'KONDA: Lieutenaant Shryker.  I hope your injurries are not too severe.

::Jade smiled and looked up at him.::

SHRYKER: Hiya. Any news on the Captain or the Mercury?

::Jade saw he was badly injured with one eye covered by bandages. He offered the woman a measured smile. ::

SHRYKER: Hiya. Any news on the Captain or the Mercury?

:: The Caitian glanced away, and rubbed at the back of his neck. ::

MEI'KONDA: No detaails on the Mercury yet, only thaat she is under tow from the Garuda, and... is mostly uninhaabitable.  Very few faatalities, but many casualties.  Like us.  She will not be seeing serviice for some time.

::Jade frowned but was pleased the ship wasn’t destroyed. She had served on her for some time, with a gap in between, and was glad the Mercury had not been destroyed like Jade’s first posting, the Independence-A.::

SHRYKER: At least she is still with us.

MEI'KONDA: As for the Captaain... I was hoping you could fill me in, Lieutenaant.  You were with him on the surfaace, piloting the shuttle, after all...?

::Jade was worried. No news on the Captain was like a blow in the stomach.::

SHRYKER: I was, but he ordered us to beam to this ship and he stayed behind. I don’t what his plans were, but I guess he had his reasons. I just hope we hear something soon. ::She paused and then looked again at Lieutenant Mei’konda.:: What happened to you? Were you on the planet or the ship?

MEI'KONDA: ?

SHRYKER: Were there many casualties there too?

MEI'KONDA: ?

SHRYKER: What do you know about the Garuda? ::Jade pulled herself upright. She dropped off the biobed and stood next to the Caitian officer.::

MEI'KONDA: ?
