"Leap and the net will appear."
—  John Burroughs

::Quinn struggled to her feet, trying to ignore the nausea that buffeted her stomach. More Cardassians, but this time accompanied by a Federation ship — a damned Galaxy class, no less — the latter of whom was hailing them.::

REYNOLDS: Put them— ::she looked at the dead viewscreen,:: —through.

EGAN MANNO: I am Captain Cassandra Egan Manno, commanding officer of the USS Garuda, accompanied by Councillor Prianna of the Detapa Council aboard the Zahrah. How can we help, Captain — ?

::Egan Manno? The name was vaguely familiar, though she couldn't place it. Prianna's name was; she took it as a good sign, given the Councillor's previous alliance with the Mercury.

::The side of her face tickled, the sensation creeping down toward her neck and Quinn touched her forehead, her fingers coming away bloody.::

REYNOLDS: Reynolds. We'll need a tow back to Deep Space Ten, engineers to help with emergency repairs and the use of your sickbay en route… and we've got people on the second planet who may require assistance.

EGAN MANNO:

REYNOLDS: I don't know. ::She hoped the tension in her voice might be incorrectly attributed to her injuries, rather than correctly assigned to her worry over a particular member of that away team.:: We lost contact with them after the Nok'Tan ambushed us. Captain Kells was attempting to reach them via shuttle, while Gul Madek had his attention on us.

EGAN MANNO:

REYNOLDS: ::She nodded, wiping blood out of her eye.:: Thank you, Captain.

EGAN MANNO:

::The channel closed, and she practically fell backward into the central chair. Even with the assistance of the Garuda, the Mercury needed attention, if only to see that it could manage the limp back home without falling to pieces.::
