The hum of the USS Khitomer’s turbolift provided a pleasant rhythm as it descended through the ship's decks. Patak stood carefully balancing the neatly-covered pie tin of Toscra and the jar of cold cream in his broad hands. He couldn't help a small smile as he thought back to Lieutenant Semara’s farewell on the bridge. Qapla’, indeed. It was a lovely gesture, and frankly, a grand way to start his posting.
oO Blimey, that smells bloody belting, Patak thought, stealing a quick glance down at the pie tin as the turbolift rattled between decks.
Wouldn't be the end of the world if I just polished off the whole lot right now, surely? A quick spoonful of cold cream and nobody’s the wiser. Oo
When the lift doors parted on Sickbay's Deck, Patak stepped out into the clean, brightly lit corridor leading to Sickbay. Adjusting his uniform jacket with a slight hitch of his shoulder careful not to tilt the delicate tart confection, he approached the main entrance doors, which slid open with a soft chime.
The medical bay was quiet, the usual hum of bio-bed monitors creating a calm atmosphere. Spotting the Chief Medical Officer, Patak approached with an easy, polite posture, keeping his posture military crisp while ensuring the baked goods remained level.
Patak: Lieutenant Commander Talia? ::Patak began, offering a respectful, formal nod.::
Talia: Response?
Patak: Ensign Patak reporting for my arrival medical checkup, ma'am.
Talia: Response?
Patak: Lieutenant Semara asked me to hand deliver this Toscra and cold cream straight to you…
