((Airlock, USS Khitomer))

It still felt slightly unreal as he stepped through the threshold to the Khitomer, having arrived back at Deep Space 33 only hours earlier. He had left a few months before to deal with an emergency in his family, and had not worn his uniform all that time. Fortunately, his return coincided with the Khitomer being at the starbase, and he had been assigned back to the same post he had held: helmsman.

Somehow, he expected the air to be.. different. He had no idea why, perhaps because he had been gone. However, it was virtually the same as it was on the station. He chuckled to himself, and made his way to the turbolift. His orders stated to report to the first officer, who had been the chief engineer when he left, so that was where he instructed the lift to go. He got out when it arrived nearby, and he quickly checked his uniform before he rang the chime. Indeed, he had put on his shoes the right way.

He rang the chime.

C. Dewitt: Come.

He stepped in. The first thing he noticed was the piles of padds in various places. If anything, Starfleet seemed to produce a lot paperwork.

Korras: Ah. The battle against the always growing horde of paperwork.

C. Dewitt: ::clearing throat and gesturing at the office:: It’s… a work in progress.

Korras: I fully understand. I was chief of operations on Starbase 118. This ::gesturing at a pile:: is one of the things I do not miss about that.

Connor gestured towards a chair in front of his desk. Korras sat down in it.

C. Dewitt: You should see my quarters.

Korras: A lot of changes it seems to have happened while I was gone.

C. Dewitt: The command structure did a full shuffle since you left. Captain Shayne and Commander Hobart have left the USS Khitomer. Which means I’m now… here. ::gesturing around the office:: Apparently.

Korras: The reward for work well done, always seems to be more work. But, congratulations on the position, sir.

C. Dewitt: Well, welcome back, Lieutenant. It is good to have you back. Your assignment orders?

He handed the padd with the orders over. Another victim for the growing piles.

Korras: here they are. Helm, USS Khitomer.

C. Dewitt: Response

Korras: Is there any indication of where we are headed, and when?

C. Dewitt: Response

Korras: Understood. Is there anything I can help with before we depart?

C. Dewitt: Response
