((Poolside, Indulgence of Chocolate-Coated Jama'haron))
Melville-Kilpatrick: I've actually been doing a little bit of brushing up on different anatomical structures, in case I come across them. I'm more used to emergencies, so it's better to have the knowledge fresh in my mind. That's what I think, anyway.
Naxell: Very practical. ::extending his hand:: I’m Naxell, by the way.
Melville-Kilpatrick: ::shaking Naxell's hand:: Thomas.
It was a good, firm handshake, after which his new acquaintance finished his ice water. Thomas tilted his own drink back and forth, watching the red slide down the sides of the glass.
Naxell: Well-met, Ensign Thomas…?
Melville-Kilpatrick: Melville-Kilpatrick. I know, it's a bit of a mouthful.
Matthews had told him as much when he'd suggested KP as an abbreviation. Maybe it would be worth it to find a shorter way of saying his own name, but he hadn't quite stumbled onto one that he liked just yet.
Naxell: Ensign Melville-Kilpatrick. Enjoy your vacation, and maybe we’ll bump into each other again and I can share some of my lecture materials.
Melville-Kilpatrick: I'd like that.
He raised his glass to the other and nodded.
