((Crew Lounge, Deck 4, USS Khitomer))
Ras watched as Matthews made a big show of his unamusement. He was certain Semara knew just how amused Matthews actually was. That was really his whole schtick.
Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
El'Heem: Enough chatter, the deck isn’t a microphone. Time for the river.
Matthews: Jack of spades. Okay I already called because I got excited, person to my left, what do you want to do?
El’Heem: We’ll assume that’s a check…since no one has bet yet.
He made a show of checking his cards, even though he knew this hand was a lost cause.
El’Heem: ::tapping the table:: I will also check.
Matthews/Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
The betting proceeded as it had. Painstakingly.
El’Heem: I think things are not going to get serious until after we’ve had our fill of candy and upped the stakes.
Matthews/Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
Ras called the raise. This would be the final round of betting, he couldn’t fold now after everything he’d put into the pot, it would be too obvious.
El’Heem: Alright folks, show em!
Ras flipped his cards and watched as Matthews went to lift his uniform. He darted his hand and held his shirt down.
El’Heem: SHOW THE CARDS RICHARD.
Matthews/Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
He facepalmed and hammed the terrible loss up as a careless mistake.
El’Heem: Looks like the new ensign isn’t just bark, after all.
Matthews/Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
He tossed his cards into the center of the table as the pot was claimed by it’s new owner. That means shuffling the deck was also their responsibility and they would be dealing the next hand.
El’Heem: That was only one hand Richard. ::beat:: tell you what, how about we up the stakes so you’re a little more enticed.
He knew that would get his attention.
Matthews/Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
El’Heem: All good ideas but here’s a fun one. Whoever wins gets to decided what the player of their choice wears to the wedding? That person has to act like whatever crazy outfit they’re wearing is traditional for their hometown and can’t let on that it was a lost bet?
Matthews/Forza/Michaels/Semara/Zerva: Response
El’Heem: Thought you’d like that one Richard. Alright, let’s play the next hand.
((OOC: Because we are starting our end of shoreleave ceremony, I figured we could leave the rest to the imagination. You guys decide who wins and who loses the bet. Sorry it took me so long to get back to simming, it’s been a year already. ))
