((Beta Module, Commercial Sector, Roberto’s Robotic Curios, DS33, Alpha Isles))

Poor Lieutenant Charles Matthews. He had smacked into Talia's orbit, and the magnetic pull of the establishment Roberto's Robotic Curios was inescapable. Also, there was a possible mending of hearts situation which was everything

Ohnari: ::practically dragging the man:: C'mon Charlie!! We're gonna find so many cool things! And despite your shockingly pretty former flame's lack of whimsy, I am sure we can find some functional thing that will make her nerdy little heart sing. ::yanking the poor man down an aisle:: Ooh!! Look! A little refashioned exco-comp!! It says it folds laundry...does Alix need perfectly folded clothes...?

Charles scoffed.

Charles: You’ve actually met Alix, right? You know full well she’ll have the most intricate, long-winded and painstakingly dull way to make sure her uniform has a crisp edge just where it needs to.

The Haliian woman snorted. Also, reveling in the fondness that was the empathic imprint undertones to his words.

Ohnari: That seems...complicated. ::she held up what was advertised as back scratcher, it looked more like an old time torture device:: Yeesh..no thanks, Ooh!! ::another yank:: Shiny...

Nolen was supposed to go with her. It was intended to be him she was dragging about, she made a mental note to recommend the poor tactical officer for a diplomacy ribbon, for not telling her where she could shove all the shinies she was dragging him to and from.

Charles: ::mutters:: God, Doc. ::steadying himself:: By the power of Grayskull…

Flitting around like a highly caffeinated ADHD fairy, she pressed all the "Press here!" buttons that the shop had to offer. And while she could sense the apprehension of the shopkeeper, the amount of credits she was planning on spending, would be changing his tune to something far more snappy, like the hula hooping monkey on the stand gyrating away until the timer dinged.

Ohnari: ::quietly:: Look..it's perfect.

She had found it: The perfect gift. It was an intricate metallic rose that went through the entire blooming cycle, just to start again. It was a masterpiece of art and engineering, and no way would anyone scoff at such a thing of beauty.

Ohnari: Ok, even with a decided lack of whimsy, that is adorable. Not to mention romantic as hell...::eyeing the tactical officer:: Are you sure you plan on leaving the past be the past....?

Charles: ::shakes his head:: What am I looking at exactly, Doctor?

Talia pointed at the title plate on the base of the flower.

Ohnari: Eh? Perfect, right?

Charles: An “Eternal Rose”? Talia…

The decided dip in the emotional imprint gave Talia pause. Perhaps this was not as simple as she had hoped. It was a bit of a downfall for her, she just loved love, and helping people find their way to each other felt like a calling. An unwelcome one at times....considering as a child she tried to get the rooster to marry the goat, not understanding the....complications of differing species. Plus, they were more platonic. Her mother explained that while she was in tears because the goat had eaten the veil she'd made.

Charles: I don’t know how or why Alix has ended up on the Khitomer but when I left the Astraeus it was… I don’t know… left there too.

She could sense sorrow, and a bit of resignation.

Ohnari: What did you say to her when you left...?

Charles: We spoke, briefly. She had to release my medical records to you. That’s how she found out I was leaving.

Talia winced.

Ohnari: Well...that was certainly a choice....how'd she take it?

For a moment, Talia worried it would have been an "Ok sure! Records sent." type of situation.

Charles: Response

Ohnari: So...you're lack of telling her directly seemed to hurt...hmmm. I know I've been prying, but...did you two, you know, start on the Astraeus or....

Charles: Response

At that point, her jaw was at risk of hitting the floor of the shop.

Ohnari: Wait, hold on. That is when you met? And then...what? "Somehow" She's followed you twice??

Charles: Response

The Gods had their reasons and their ways, but this seemed far too much to be a coincidence, or a punishment. Placing a hand on the man's shoulder, Talia looked him directly in the eyes.

Ohnari: Charles, sweetheart...you're a bit of an idiot. ::holding up a finger to stop the protest:: Look man, if you've truly left those feelings behind? I respect that. However, if you have not welded that door shut....there is no way the Gods would continue to shove the two of you together, across the academy and two whole starships, without something meaning to stick.  Even if it's a conversation.

Charles: Response
