Ras rested he butt against her desk and watched as she stood, approached, and flicked him. He chuckled

He sighed, unsure what she thought the implication was and then rolled his eyes when his mind landed on the picture.
Ohnari: Oh! Actually while you are here, a weird scenario didn’t actually happen but sort of did enough to make me think exploring an alternative may not be a bad idea.
His eyebrows lifted, crinkling his forehead.
El’Heem: Between you and Hobart? Don’t tell me, I don’t want to know.
Ras hopped off the desk and stood.
Ohnari: New medical officer arrived, and there was some confusion with the necessity of the implant for non-telepathically inclined species. Round about, made me wonder, I know Engineering and you consulted to work up some additional shielding with that Velithari chitin, right?
El’Heem: Not much has come of that just yet. Waiting on Starfleet brass approval. I haven’t even talked to engineering here to draw up plans.
His prosthetic hand went to his chin and his left hand tucked itself into the crook of his elbow as he looked at her.
El’Heem: The Sencha refraction is incredible, I’ve never seen anything like it. The implant would be near obsolete with it.
Ohnari: Yes exactly! Would it be something we could incorporate in the standard uniform? Or perhaps a lightweight armor type? Something to offer protection without having to be an entire EV suit. ::pausing:: Although that might not be a bad idea in itself…

El’Heem: It can be done. It would offer protection for the entire body besides the hands and head but the amount of protection would far outweigh the implant alone! ::beat:: you’re a genius. When do we start?
