Melville-Kilpatrick: ::pointing:: Do these numbers mean anything to you?
He watched as she looked through them, hoping that something would seem familiar to someone with more experience.
Semara: Huh. That one's my momma's birthday.
He snorted a little laugh at that.
Melville-Kilpatrick: Well unless your, uh, momma is here, I doubt that's how they're keeping track of things.
Semara: Okay, let's say they ain't got any meanin'. Enemies or not, Federation law demands we still treat 'em civilized... That means medical care... Which means medical records...
She looked at him for a moment and it took him a second to make the connection. When he got it, his mind started to spin. He knew this, he knew what he could do, at least as a doctor.
Melville-Kilpatrick: Oh! I get it.
He looked to the side, wondering if they would actually be allowed to do all of this. Medical files, knowing when somebody wasn't at baseline--that was most of what he already knew.
Semara: How'd you like to perform a regulatory health and wellness audit on the prisoner population with me, doctor?
Melville-Kilpatrick: That only seems necessary, of course. Just to make sure that everything is up to code.
Semara: Sheliak and Tholian physiology ain't a great match. They'd have to compromise on a place to meet for long enough to talk regularly. :: Beat :: I'm thinkin' we might find a Tholian with a touch a' frostbite, or a Sheliak that's got pneumostome problems from the heat.
It was a good idea. Thomas navigated to the medical files, which were slightly easier to find than he thought they would be.
Melville-Kilpatrick: There's a few here. A Sheliak with a few more problems than you would expect...could be relevant.
Semara: Response
Melville-Kilpatrick: Surely the guards would let us have access to this particular patient. Just to ensure that everyone is receiving proper medical care, of course.
Semara: Response
He was hesitant to admit that he was nervous about approaching, but he really didn't want to mess up his first away team mission as an officer of the Khitomer. It was probably safest to double-check. Everyone could count pips, and Thomas wasn't entirely sure he didn't have 'newbie' tattooed across his forehead.
Melville-Kilpatrick: Should I ask, or would it be more official coming from a more senior officer?
Semara: Response
