OOC — redo, take to, throw the other sim into the Hobart Hole!

((Deck 6, Sickbay, USS Khitomer))

Ohnari: Alright Ensign Matthews, you think you've found a way to isolate the bio-neural packs to prevent possible cascade failure oO I think I said those words in the right order...Oo as long as we're not removed from the grid in case of emergency, give it a go. And you've got four helpers, well, three if anyone injured comes in.

Glancing down at the program that was primed and ready to go. Richard could say with relative certainty that there shouldn’t be any ramifications to isolating sickbay from the rest of the ship’s network. Really, that was a standard practice he had read in a textbook, he was almost sure. His final results were still pending. No one needed to know that their makeshift engineer still hadn’t graduated basic engineering courses yet, though.

Whatever, fake it till you make it, that’s what he always said.

R. Matthews: :: Pressing the initiation button to run his macro :: Done, currently we only have access to sickbay systems. If we have our own medical transporter, for example, that’s the only transporter option we will have. Unless engineering transports people for us. We still have access to the main computer core, we’re not limited to sickbay’s own data banks. We’re still on the power grid.

He glanced up at the dim lighting. Then down at the floor, tapping his foot experimentally, he didn’t go flying into the air. So gravity was still working.

R. Matthews: Which will be more useful when we are not running on backup power.

Ohnari: And what can Ayemet and I do to assist this? Although, we should probably focus on the repair of the damaged goo bag...minus the accidental explosive tendencies…

Peering at the remains of the gel pack. Richard questioned if it could be saved.

R. Matthews: He’s dead doctor Ohnari. But I think the other packs can be saved. Question for anyone that would know, does this sickbay have its own air filtration unit? Is it working in here or for the whole of deck six?

A. Dewitt: I’m at your disposal.

A. Dewitt / C. Matthews / Torado / Ohnari: Response

Ohnari: Alright, we've got Ensign Matthews working to isolate the uncorrupted gel packs, to enlist any help as needed, Ayemet and I are going to see if the damage to the cellular matrix can be repaired or replaced, and not explode...and Lieutenants Matthews and Torado, unless called away elsewhere, will be implementing invasion protocol and fortifications, minus actually barring the doors in case injured need in.

A. Dewitt:  Let’s get to work with blowing up I mean repairing the gel packs.

R. Matthews: If we have an air filtration unit. I think, but am not sure, that it’s what’s making the difference for the gel packs. I would suggest checking our air purification protocols. With the packs here and in engineering being uninfected. I think that’s the key. I

A. Dewitt / C. Matthews / Torado / Ohnari: Response

R. Matthews: All I have is conjecture right now. But going off the highly likely assumption that the gel packs are experiencing some sort of radiation poisoning from the Sencha waves. If we assume that either, they are all being infected all at once. Or a few are being infected and then that infection is spreading through the network of bio-neural circuitry. The infection can be removed and or prevented by something we’re already doing. That night help with repairing the damage to the cellular matrix.

A. Dewitt / C. Matthews / Torado: Response

Ohnari: Alright, we've got the bones of a plan. And Break!....wait. No, bones and break are not the right combo....ok first things first I need calories and caffeine...anyone else in need of the same should take a moment. Who knows if the power will hold or if it will need to be taken offline for more repairs. Go team!

A. Dewitt: Exploding gel packs and broken bones. Sounds like the building blocks for a good night out.

Richard turned back to his computer. He’d had a big breakfast, and it wasn’t close to his dinner time. He could soldier on through a little longer. Right now, he wanted to keep an eye on sickbays systems. Make sure the isolation protocols were holding and that he hadn’t accidentally fudged anything up.

Systems checked out as stable. Redundancy programs were running. Sickbays systems were still processing normally, save for a few errors popping up. Easy fixes though, he tabbed through them, reviewing what programs had stopped running. Clicking options to fix what he could, close out and restart others, full on force closing the rest.

R. Matthews: Decontamination chamber 1 is offline, but 2 is functional if you need it. Isolation units 1 operational. Biobeds 1 through 7 operational, 8 through 10 offline, 11 and 12 rebooting. Medical replicators functioning, get your snacks while you can.

He thought he caught something about two vulcans walking into an academy lecture. Wait, what?

A Dewitt:  Okay I was at the Academy and there were these two Vulcans..

R. Matthews: :: Putting his head down, muttering to himself :: Sounds like the start of a bad joke. Resist the urge to make a bad joke, resist.

C. Matthews / Ohnari / Torado: Response

A Dewitt: Yes  Dr you’re absolutely right.

A Dewitt:  Okay to business. Everyone stay safe, :glancing at Ohnari and winking: and not like last time.

C. Matthews / Ohnari / Torado: Response

C. Dewitt: =/\= Dewitt to Matthews. We have several difficulties with the shield matrix. I’d suggest a manual reset, are you available for that? =/\=

Richard glanced up. That wasn’t outside the wheelhouse for him. He’d played around with ship’s shielding before, after all. But, didn’t commander Dewitt have a whole department of people in yellow to delegate things to? Maybe another engineer or someone in tactical, cause it pertained to ship’s defenses?

He made to open his mouth.

C. Matthews: =/\= Response =/\=

Or, right, there were two of him now. No, wait, that wasn’t right. Oh fiddlesticks, now the others had him all mixed up too! Just what he needed. To suffer another identity crises in so many months.

C. Dewitt: =/\= We’re going to need it asap. Take any help you need. =/\=

C. Matthews / Torado: =/\= Response =/\=

C. Dewitt: =/\= ::nodding:: Lieutenant Torado sounds just fine. Good luck, Lieutenant. Report to me once the problems are solved. Dewitt out. =/\=

The click of his teeth as he snapped his mouth shut was inaudible to the surrounding others. But sharp to his own ears. He winced, running his tongue over the abused molars. This was why his dentist judged him. That and all the sugary sweets he partook in. Making a note to brush extra long tonight when they got the power on again and were on the way back to federation space. Richard made to turn back to what he was doing.

And then someone beamed into sickbay. Richard’s attention now fully on the rather large person in a starfleet issued EV suit. Laying at his feet, groaning in pain, and moving sluggish.

R. Matthews: :: Moving to kneel down :: Hey -

Prix: =/\= Ouchita to Khitomer Bridge, Engineering and Sickbay. We transported Lieutenant El’Heem to sickbay. The energy discharge hit us hard… We will try to return to Khitomer shortly. Ouchita out.=/\=

Richard, abandoning his natural inclination to speak calmly to patients in distress. Hit the floor hard as he dropped down beside the man on the floor. He’d be feeling that later. And hopefully, Ras would be fine, and they could be joking about how Richard was actually an old man. Complaining about his knees, his back, whatever.

R. Matthews: :: Moving to place an arm on Ras shoulder :: Ras, buddy, you’re okay. You’re on the Khitomer. I’m going to get this helmet off you. Can you tell me what happened?

El’Heem: Response

R. Matthews: :: Getting the helmet off and tossing it to the side :: Ras, how many fingers am I holding up? :: He held up a hand with three up. His thumb and pinky curled closed ::

El’Heem: Response

Nodding, he glanced around, looking to see if he could spot Ohnari. Unfortunately, while he had the knowledge, the outdated knowledge. He really shouldn’t be jumping in like this when people were hurt. Force of habit. And maybe a subtle kick in the pants to get his first aid training up to date if nothing else.

Luckily, their CMO was on the move. A person on a mission. Of course, she cared about all her patients, at least he assumed so, but there really was something different when it was one of your own. And Ras reported directly to her. He didn’t protest when he saw her coming. Instead, he moved to make Ras more comfortable and get out of her way.

R. Matthews: Doctor. :: He said, moving to stand ready to help as directed :: Just tell me what you need.

A. Dewitt / C. Matthews / Ohnari / Torado: Response
