((Sickbay, Deck 6, USS Khitomer))
Her table held a Kressari male. It just happened to be that the Kressari male was one of her friends. Rolling her shoulders, she shed "Talia", and fully became "Doctor Ohnari". Everything around her dulled, her senses focused solely on the man on her table. Laser scalpel settings adjusted.
Now to make the first cut.
.....The first cut, in the procedure results in the removal of the hand.
The hand...attached to her friend.
Talia had slipped back for a moment, but the years of training shoved her right on out. Doctor Ohnari was in the command chair now.
First incision, access damage.
Extensive.
Second incision, nerve cluster partially intact.
Clipped arterial bleed, temporarily banded.
Further bleeding, another surgical band.
No further bleeding.
Third incision, little to no resistance. Pause, palpate nerve cluster. Remove debris. Measure reaction.
Glance up, readings indicate minimal response.
Glance back down, excise damaged cluster. Burst band on primary arterial bleed, reinforce banding, partial micro suture vascular wall. Administer clotting factor, wait. Readings reflect green, bleed has been neutralized. Remove debris.
Fourth incision. Separation of damaged biological matter. Set down scalpel, apply pressure bandage. Adjust. Renforce pressure bandage. Check vitals. Vitals holding stable. Scan surgery site, review readings. No foreign matter. Banding holding. Exhale.
Ohnari: Patient remains stable, radioactive isotopes still shedding. Move him to recovery three. ::glancing around, the dulled noises came rushing back with a roar.:: Uh, please.
A. Dewitt/R. Matthews/El'Heem (if you want): Response
Talia watched silently as a hazmat suited up nurse Othrin, who had shown up...sometime during the procedure, guiding the bed towards recovery three. That particular bed would need to be scrubbed, and depending, scrapped. But, that wasn't a concern. The concern was the man atop the bed. He needed to recover, and would need several hours of isolation until the damn radioactive isotopes finally decayed. The biofilters in recovery three had been programmed especially for isolation.
Ohnari: Ensign Matthews, has the replicator completed the post exposure serums?
R. Matthews: Response
Nodding her thanks, she accepted the oblong receptacle and attached it to her thigh. Wincing, as the initial hiss of the device attaching itself always got her. Turning towards the others, she held up the other two devices.
Ohnari: Alright, we'll all be wearing these until the orange light turns green. Handy little device, it needs to be attached to a major muscle grouping, but it will begin scrubbing the remaining isotopes. It's self applicable, you're going to feel a slight twinge, I'm sorry for that, but it won't last long and won't continue beyond the initial insertion. ::lifting up the hem of her skant:: See? Simple.
The metallic oblong device was adhered to her thigh, orange light blinking at a steady interval, indicating the specialized nanites began a microscopic internal cleansing of any remaining radiation.
R. Matthews/A. Dewitt: Response
Ohnari: If you want, slip behind the screen for privacy, otherwise, shout at me if you need assistance. ::her eyes stopped on another patient that had arrived...sometime.:: Ensign Michaels?
R. Matthews/A. Dewitt: Response
Nodding towards nurse....D something. She was new...LeDoux! Rachel LeDoux, that was her name. Approaching the Biobed, she nodded as the nurse gave a run down of the biometric readings.
Ohnari: Well hello Ensign Michaels, How are we feeling?
Michaels: Response
Her fingers were inputting commands, and lowering the breathing apparatus.
Ohnari: Alright, big deep breaths for me. I've got you on a high concentrated oxygen infusion, ::a few more commands typed in and the head of the bed raised:: I'm going to also be giving you some corticosteroids to boost your system to get as much oxygen into your bloodstream. If you feel a little light headed, just lay back. I promise it will pass. ::quick hypo administration:: I'm also giving you a mild analgesic to combat the raging headache I am sure is trying to develop.
Michaels: Response
Ohnari: ::quietly:: He's in recovery. He sustained some significant trauma, and a direct blast of radiation. But, he's stable and resting. ::squeezing the woman's shoulder in comfort:: You both are going to be fine.
