((Chief Medical Office, Sickbay, Deck 6))
Talia was in her office. The Sickbay had been repaired, so not even the terrifying Agatha could evict her. She had some PADD work to catch up on, in fact a few that were overdue, so, she was spending some time playing catchup. Charting wouldn't do itself. No matter how many times she begged.
Hobart: =/\= Hobart to Ohnari. Are you free? =/\=
Saved by the First Officer! It wasn't her fault, the superior officer needed to talk to her, and therefore she was honor bound to see what he needed, and the charting...well it would be waiting. As always.
Ohnari: =/\= In fact I am, I am in my office. See you momentarily. =/\=
The Haliian stuck her tongue out at the charting program, having a valid excuse to close out and come back. As if the program would be capable of judging her. In fact, she wondered if she could program it to do so...if she got passive aggressive, snarky alerts, she might be more inclined to keep up to date. While debating the merits of a sassy computer and how quickly that could devolve, suddenly Nolen was in her office, walking as if his heels were on file. Resolve radiated off of him in thick waves, before she could get a word out, he was already speaking.
Hobart: This isn't working. I can't do it anymore.
For a moment, she looked behind him to see if Connor was there, recording. This had to be one of his weird pranks again. Except no one was there. No one at all.
Ohnari: Uh..I'm sure we could discuss thi-
He held up a hand to head off any objection. Her words died on her tongue.
Hobart: I know it's important to you but I can’t do my job, Talia. I'm sorry. This little experiment of ours has to end. It could hurt me, or could kill me, but I don't have a choice anymore. I'm sorry.
Talia recoiled as if he had slapped her. He just referred to what they meant to each other as a "little experiment" ? She didn't even have time to be sad, she was immediately pissed. He had said he was willing to try. And he was just tossing it out the airlock without even allowing her to have a say? Another thing had assured her would not happen...Standing, her fists balled tightly and one finger pointed dangerously at chest level,
Ohnari: Oh so this is how we're going to do this? Here in my office? What happened to ::her voice raised slightly:: trusting me to know the difference?? ::rubbing the bridge of her nose in agitation.:: I cannot believe you, if this is about the stupid hat thing I swear-
His eyes narrowed in confusion. What had been resolve radiating off him suddenly shifted to bafflement. The fire in her speech flickered out. The two stared at each other for a moment.
Hobart: ::Pointing to his head:: I mean my inhibitor. I want it out. I want my brain back. ::beat:: Wait, what did you think I meant?
Taking a deep breath in through her nose, she just glared at him until he realized how it had looked.
Ohnari: ::hand on her hip:: Are you kidding me? ::exhaling deeply and silently praying towards the Gods for patience:: You come bursting in my office telling me you can't...you know what? Never mind. ::coming around her desk, she reached up behind his ear and yanked forcefully. A little payback for his delivery, It would sting but nothing worse:: The inhibitor wasn't ever supposed to be permanent. Better?
Hobart: Response
Ohnari: You aren't free entirely, your paracortex was still hyperactively producing dangerous levels of Psilosynine. Which, is why I had to use the inhibitor in the first place. We need to check where they are at now. Follow me.
Exiting her office, she still couldn't believe Nolen and his delivery. He really didn't know what to do with that inhibitor in the first place. She gestured towards the first biobed before tapping in a few commands,
Ohnari: I am going to start with a standard cranial scan, but then I want to take a closer look at your paracortex, compare the output to the monitor you had shorted out.
Hobart: Response
Once he had settled on the bed, Talia began the scan. The initial readings steady, but..within moments, it began to fire somewhat erratically.
Ohnari: ::her brows furrowed:: Nolen it is....weird. Would you allow me to call Lieutenant Semara...? ::holding her hand up:: I would not ask, but with her being full Betazoid, she might have insight that I am missing...You can assure her discretion.
Hobart: Response
Ohnari: Well, if I can't figure out why it's happening, we're back to inhibitor options, which you've already vetoed so....::raising her brow, she waited for his disgruntled approval:: =/\= Ohnari to Lieutenant Semara, are you able to come to Sickbay? I could use a consult. =/\=
Semara: =/\= Response
Hobart: Response
