Ezra sat at his desk looking over the number of personal files that had been sent to him. The files were all for the newest members of the crew that were being assigned to fill in the missing gaps in security. When he was first assigned to the Arrow, they had nine enlisted officers to fill in the ranks in the security department. Since then they had moved to a bigger ship doubling those numbers with room to spare that included a number of crewman ranks. This meant they would need more security officers. On top of that, there had been a number of transfers to other departments and at least one death. Chief Vanta’s file on a PADD sat closed on the top of a stack of new personal.
Ezra let out a sigh. Someone would need to take Vanta’s place. He was inclined to promote from within. That by his estimation left the two most qualified on the Khitomer in the security department. Petty Officer 2nd Class Jackson “Jack” Pearl of Beta Shift and Petty Officer 2nd Class Naatima Kelana of Gamma Shift. Beta Shift currently had 2 enlisted officers and Gamma Shift had 3. Alpha watch only had one enlisted officer after losing Vanta. This meant Alpha Shift would need someone to lead them and more personal.
Did that mean moving the teams around so they had 2 experienced officers with one newly assigned officer for each team? Does he move either Pearl or Kelana to lead Alpha and promote someone else?What to do? And who will get the promotions?
He turned to the desk next to him where Lieutenant Matthews sat. Ezra had invited the Lieutenant to join him in security and go over the files. These files included personal for the tactical department on the bridge. An equally important position that needed to have its ranks filled as well. They already had the approval from the XO to make the necessary changes as needed.
Zevra: ::rubs the temple on top of his noes between the eyes:: Ugh. Did you know, besides the lunch we had together with the crew upon our arrival, my checkup in sickbay and my consoler’s appointment, I’ve spent the last two days here going over these files.

Zevra: It’s left me with little time to spend on actual shore leave. I’m supposed to be meeting Lera on the Holodeck before leave ends, but at this rate I don’t know how that’s going to happen. Bad enough I’m not spending more time with my puppy Foxy Lady. I wonder if Lt Zenno ever had it this hard?

Zevra: Hmm? Oh Lera, err Ensign Michaels has a program she wants me to try with her. I’m looking forward to it. Assuming I ever get this finished. ::looking over the files:: Hmm, let’s see here. Human, Human, Half-Romulan, Benzite? Do they even use those breathing devices anymore?
