((Shuttle Bay, USS Khitomer))

Warr sat motionless aboard the shuttle, staring straight ahead, trying not to let his emotions show.

His thoughts drifted back to the many years he had spent on Bolarus IX. For a moment, he felt like a child again, surrounded by his parents and the love they had given him while encouraging him to study, grow, and become the person he was today. He missed them. They were far away, and he wished he could have told them in person that he was finally leaving—that he had been assigned to the USS Khitomer, and that he couldn't have been happier. Instead, he had left them a long message, filled with gratitude for everything they had done for him.

Despite the nostalgia, excitement quickly took over. He had completed the Academy. It had been demanding and challenging, but he had never stopped believing in himself or striving to prove his dedication and determination. Now, that chapter was behind him.

For Warr, there was no greater calling than medicine. The opportunity to deepen his medical knowledge while using his skills to help others was exactly the life he had always hoped for.

He was happy to be there. Uncertain about what awaited him, hopeful that he would prove worthy of the uniform he wore, but above all, eager to begin the journey ahead.

DeVeau: Looks like we're finally here.

Kmett: Yes, here we are, on our way to the USS Khitomer. Until yesterday, I never imagined I'd be assigned here. I graduated from the Academy, but this still feels like a dream—one I never expected to come true so quickly :: Warr said with a smile.::

DeVeau: Are you excited?

Kmett:
Oh, yes, Commander. I'm excited... and happy. I'm not sure how to explain it, but this is the first time I've truly left my homeworld behind. Even while I was at the Academy, I still felt connected to Bolarus IX. Now... I feel free, as though a whole new challenge is waiting for me. ::He smiled, unable to hide his enthusiasm.:: It's as if I've finally grown up.

DeVeau: We should find the first officer or the captain. Both of us need to check in. You for official duty, and more for officially residing here for the next few weeks. Would you care to do the honour of asking the computer how to get to one of their offices?

Kmett:
Right away! ::Warr queried the computer, and within moments it returned the requested information.:: They have offices next to each other, on Deck 1.Do you think we should see the First Officer right away, Commander?

DeVeau: Response

Kmett:
All right. If you don't mind me asking, Commander, what brings you to the Khitomer?

DeVeau: Response

Kmett: Interesting. Then I hope the next few weeks will be enjoyable for you. ::He smiled politely.:: Is there something about the Khitomer that you're especially looking forward to? Do you already know any of the crew?

DeVeau: Response
