((Main Engineering, Deck 12, USS Khitomer - Mobile Medical Site))

The sight of the mobile medical site set up in a corner of main engineering was rather a relief to Amelia.  There was something oddly comical about the way the first crewman approached it with the same fear one might have in the presence of a Luraxxa Bear, only to catch the same crewman waddling away with a hint of bruised indignation while they rubbed their posterior.  It made her giggle.

She figured she may as well set an example for the other officers and enlisted that a simple jab was nothing to be afraid of.  So she trotted over, only to discover it was none other than her Very Good Friend and Neighbor Doctor Alix Harford (and yes, Very Good Friend was an honorific title that preceded the already stately "Doctor").  She grinned and waved back brightly.

Harford: What are you doing down here in Engineering?

Amelia puffed out a little bubble of air.  She wasn't inclined to talk about gel-packs, feeling like the topic was as well-worn as hundred-year-old hotel lobby carpet.

Semara: Just tryin' to straighten some crossed wires with engineerin'...

Her gaze met an injector clearly marked for her glute, and brightened with a smile as she promptly undid her pants and pushed the waistband the appropriate amount.  Alix's expression and emotions jumped all as one.

Semara: ...That goes in back there, right?

Harford: You can wait until you’re behind the partition to expose your rear end, Amelia!

Semara: :: A long beat holding the pose and big, concerned eyes. :: Was I supposed to?

After the gel-pack fiasco, Amelia was genuinely convinced there was another miscommunication, and her senses turned ever-so-slightly to her friend to try and understand.  All she got back was a happy burbling brook of feeling to go with her friend's laughter.

It was enough to let Amelia relax and giggle along.

Semara: What've I done this time?

Harford: Well not everyone is as comfortable with group nudity as you Betazoids are. ::since you’re already mooning all of Engineering, ::she readys the applicator:: quick pinch.

Semara: ...Oh!

Truthfully, she'd forgotten about that quirk of her culture being a quirk.  It wasn't a quirk, it just was to her.  She laughed a little harder this time, enough that the discomfort of the injection was barely noticeable.

There was a tiny delay, and a candle flicker of something empathic before the injector pulled away.

Semara: Somethin' the matter?

Harford: Response

Amelia pulled her uniform pants back to their ordinary position, and worked to straighten everything out so she'd look like the very model of a Starfleet officer.  Or - preferably - better.

Semara: Sorry, I just had the strangest sense that I had someone's attention just then.  Gone now.  :: Beat, a conspiratorial little grin. :: See anyone lookin' this way just then?

Harford: Response

Amelia pouted a little, purposefully adding a bit of drama to the face for her friend's sake.  Suspicions were beginning to build, and the Betazoid in her was having far too much fun batting them around.  She wouldn't make Alix confess to anything, but she couldn't help herself from a little teasing fun.

Semara: :: Pleading :: C'mooooon.  You're a doctor!  You of all people oughta know a little curiosity is perfectly healthy!  Help a girl out?

Harford: Response

Semara: :: Unserious disappointment :: And just when I thought I might'a had a shot at slippin' someone my number... :: A big, musical laugh, then settling with a sigh. ::  Want me to order Richard over?  I have a feelin' you might have to send Othin after 'im otherwise...

Harford: Response
