Torado: What are you even doing, anyways?

Matthews: Rewiring emitters to trick the people trying to kill us into thinking that there’s someone here to kill while we skidaddle.

If he were honest, he would have liked to have started skidaddling now. But they couldn’t just leave without the trick setup to fool someone’s sensors into detecting certain life signs. He had thought that he would get to do this back on the ship, remotely, from the science labs or the bridge. But alas. Somehow he found himself where he was doing the things he was doing.

And with yet another person annoyed at him for situations outside of his control. Which was just another delightful thing to deal with.

Kendrick: =/\= Response =/\=

Torado: =/\= Sorry, wrong number. =/\=

Torado: =/\= Alright. Fifteen minutes. You want us to bring you something? Carton of milk, maybe? Are we out of eggs? =/\=

Matthews: Ask her if she needs a cup of sugar too.

See, he could make bad jokes too.

Torado: Dickie, I am very fond of my limbs, but I am remarkably ambivalent about yours. ::hard stare:: You've got twelve minutes, and then I'm dragging you back to the shuttle, by whichever part seems easiest to grab.

Matthews: Sure give that a try, if I’m not done in fifteen minutes and need a little longer. :: He didn’t look up from the console or the readout of the emitter :: Be a pal eh? Grab a tricorder and see if you detect life signs in the room besides ours . . . now.

Richard tapped out the run command. Firing up the emitters in the room. It was a basic, oh so basic, but they had to be quick about it. So energy and matter projected in such ways that it would look like there was something physical and alive in the room. He’d flip the switch for the environmental controls when he wasn’t in the prison, that would be the actual part of this plan that would really fool whoever was looking.

As long as they weren’t looking too hard. FIngures crossed that they just did a basic scan to make sure people were there and not a deep dive to find specific people. Or anything.

Torado: Response

Matthews: Well, what are you seeing? I’ve only got ten minutes left before I get dragged away.

Torado: Response

Matthews: Aw shoot, I hope fiddling with the temperature controls will compensate for that. And here I was hoping the emitters would work better than this.

Torado: Response
