((Noticed I was spelling Transporter “pad” as “PADD”, which are two completely different pieces of Federation Technology. Lol. I left the previous spelling in to avoid any changes to what was already written and made the changes on further post / sims from here on out))

((Deck 9, Transporter Room Two, USS Khitomer))

Zerva: =/\= Lieutenant Zerva to bridge. Commander, you wanted me to report immediately on any data I found. This is definitely it, sir. =/\=

Morda/Korras: =/\= Response? =/\=

C. Dewitt: =/\= Please be a little more specific, Lieutenant. =/\=

Zerva: =/\= I’m in Transporter Room Two, Deck Nine. Crewman Chenn was injured when he came into contact with some filaments on the transporter PADD. I’ve got a medic on their way here now. Recommend not using the transporters just encase the other ones are infected too. =/\=

Thelan: =/\= We need to be careful when touching anything it seems. =/\=

That would be his assessment based on the data that was taken by Ensign Morda and confirmed by Lieutenant Michaels. He had no intention of getting close enough to touch it, much less giving the filaments a chance to reach out and injure him.

Morda/Korras: =/\= Response? =/\=

C. Dewitt: =/\= ::nodding:: What systems are infected? =/\=

Zerva: =/\= According to the sensor readings I’ve got, it looks like the invisible filaments are embedded into the PADD itself sir. On top of that some of the threads have weaved their way through the bolians blood on the floor of the PADD causing it to snake about. I have a theory I’d like to test with permission sir. =/\=

C. Dewitt: =/\= We are working on making the filaments visible here on the bridge, Lieutenant. Any ideas how to get them off the ship? =/\=

That was good to hear. Hopefully the bridge crew could figure out how to do just that. It would go a long way in trying to fix this filament problem. As for getting them off the ship? He had one idea. The question was would it work?

Morda/Korras: =/\= Response? =/\=

Zerva: =/\= What if we could find a way to make the filaments visible and then use the transporter PADD to lock onto it and beam them out? Mind you, I’m not sure what would happen with the filaments in the buffer. But if that’s possible, I can send someone from engineering to assist me here, since Lieutenant Michaels is on the away team now. =/\=

Morda/Korras: =/\= Response? =/\=

C. Dewitt: =/\= Alright, Lieutenant. Go ahead, but I want you to stop what you’re doing on the first sign of trouble. =/\=

It made sense. He had zero intention of sticking around if this thing became more trouble. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.

Velaris: =/\= We will keep working on getting these filaments visible and try to get it working shipwide. =/\=

Ezra sure hoped so or it could spell a problem for everyone on board.

Zerva: =/\= Good luck. Keep me posted when you do figure it out. I suspect it will help us down here. I’ll contact engineering right away. =/\=

C. Dewitt: =/\= Understood. Dewitt out. =/\=

Ezra’s left hand had stopped twitching while on the call. That was a good sign. He eyed the transporter pad once more, the filaments had stopped moving through the Bolian blood. Odd given what he had just witnessed only a moment ago. It would have to wait. Without wasting more time, he made the call he promised he would to engineering.

Zerva: =/\= Lieutenant Zerva to engineering. =/\=

Sparks: =/\= Response =/\=

Zerva: =/\= Sparks, I could use some assistance here on deck nine, transporter room two. I found some more filaments here. Looks like they have tried embedding themselves into the transporter pad. The XO wants us to proceed with trying to get them off the ship, but with caution. =/\=

Sparks: =/\= Response =/\=

Zerva: =/\= I’m hoping we can find a way to beam them off the pad, however there is no telling what could happen. Bring your tools and make sure you’ve got a copy of those sensor readings Ensign Morda uploaded into the computer. =/\=

Sparks: =/\= Response =/\=

Zerva: =/\= Excellent. I’ll see you soon, Zerva out. =/\=

Infected. A word that made more sense than anything. This would indeed be a problem they would need to find a cure for the infection. Ezra took a look at the sensor data on his tricorder and uploaded it into the nearby computer terminal and began to compare the data from his tricorder readings with those of the ones taken by Morda earlier.

The doors into the transporter room opened up, as the data did its work. Ezra casted a glance at Petty Officer Wynters. Just outside he could see the medic crewman helping Chenn with their injuries.

Chenn: ::shouting from the corridor:: I told her not to go in there sir. You gave me explicit instructions not to let anyone inside.

Indeed he did, but this was one of those times he was grateful to see a member of the security team.

Zerva: It’s alright crewman. When you see Petty Officer Sparks, let her in too.

There was a silent nod from Bolian as the medic got Chenn to stop talking while they worked on fixing him up.

Wynters: Did you find more filaments sir? I take it that's why Sparks is on her way here?

Zerva: It would be the reason, and yes it's over here on the transporter pad. Whatever you do, don’t touch the pad or get too close.

The computer terminal spoke up as Wynters walked towards the pad.

Computer: ::bleep:: Uploaded data complete. Synchronization commencing.

Good, it wouldn't be long now.

Wynters: I can’t even see anything.

Zerva: Oh it’s there, just invisible to the naked eye. Even harder now that it’s stopped snaking through the Bolians blood, though I’m not yet certain why.

Wynters: Snaking, sir?

Zerva: That’s the best description I could think of, given the way it was moving through it.

The computer terminal beeped a second time.

Computer: ::bleep:: Synchronization compete.

Ezra turned towards the computer terminal.

Zerva: Now let’s see what the sensor data can tell us.
