Lieutenant Karsyn Croix - "A Fresh Start"

Karsyn entered his quarters after arriving and taking a solo tour of a few different areas of the USS Khitomer. He was a recent transfer from the USS Galaxy as he sought to be in a sector that was in closer proximity to his wife Valora. He also felt that a change of pace would have a positive impact on his productivity. Afterall, his entire life had a constant change of pace starting from his first stint in Starfleet serving aboard the USS Ackerman for six years (2259-2265) during the 23rd Century, taking a leave of absence to find Valora after the Borg conquered his homeworld leaving few survivors of his race, to living aboard a civilian ship, traveling the stars, and eventually returning to Starfleet 133 years later. It took him two years to complete his retraining at Starfleet Academy because technology had changed significantly since he had served on a constitution class ship. His time aboard the Galaxy helped him work out any kinks and adjust to this version of Starfleet. 

He took a look around his quarters which were straightforward overall, but he was fortunate to have his own room. He remembered when he had to bunk with other crew members back in the 23rd century and the quarters were half the size of his current one. He walked over to his desk, leaned down, and unpacked a picture of him and Valora. He set the photo on his desk and then pivoted off of his back heel as he headed for the replicator. 

Croix: Old Fashioned drink.

The replicator synthesized an Old Fashioned beverage with an orange peel and cherry. He lifted the glass and took it with him to the couch. After sitting down, he took a sip of the replicated drink. It was alright, certainly not as tasty as the real whiskey, but hopefully the Khitomer had a bar with real drinks. He would have to take a look that evening at some point. For now, he lifted his PADD and began reading the operations reports for the Khitomer. Then all of the sudden he received a communications call from his wife interrupting his review. Of course, Karsyn answered the call or he would certainly hear about it later. 

Croix: Hi Val.

This was the start of the next journey during the near 300 year life of Lieutenant Karsyn Croix and he hoped to make it an exceptional one.
