((Bridge, Deck 1, USS Khitomer))
Morda: Wait one… ::tapping frantically:: Okay. EPS work for the cargo transporter is wrapping up. Should be back online in a few moments. ::Looking over at the medical officer:: Divide and conquer, pal -- what’s your pick?
Thomas did some quick thinking, mentally flipping a coin. Either of the tasks was going to be a bit of a challenge, but he needed to think what was best for everyone.
Melville-Kilpatrick: I'll take the workbee.
Morda: All right; I’ll get my board setup for the other one.
Melville-Kilpatrick: Got it. Keep me updated.
He kept an eye on what Talon was doing as he set about his own task. It was going to be far easier for the both of them if they could stay out of each other's way, but he was still nosy, still concerned with the hazmat.
Dewitt: Remember to determine both vessels’ system status before you bring them aboard. We don’t want to have explosion damage in the shuttle bay.
Morda: Aye, Commander.
Melville-Kilpatrick: Yes, sir.
Dewitt: Good, you’re both doing great. Proceed.
Okay, workbee beaming. Thomas knew the general principles if not the larger backstory behind transporting things, and he certainly knew how to press a button. He conferred quickly but quietly over the communications systems with the team who'd be responsible for the workbee once it had beamed over.
The corner of his mouth turned up when he realized that there wasn't much contamination on the workbee at all, not according to the scans the team had gotten. He breathed a sigh of relief when they confirmed the workbee's presence, right where it was supposed to be.
That made it all the easier to lock onto the coordinates. Thomas started the ready process. He wanted the workbee all in one piece, and while the horror that came from a misled beaming of a vessel wasn't at all comparable to that of a person, it was still better to avoid it.
Thomas tried to shove that particular image away.
oO Focus on what you want, not what you don't. Oo
Morda: Tractor beam ready. Thank you. Initiating recovery. It’ll be low-power to avoid exacerbating the damage, so it’ll take a few minutes.
Thomas nodded in silent acknowledgement, exactly the kind that wasn't much help if the person you were nodding at had to focus their visual attention on something else. He failed to realize that.
Morda: Thomas, how’re you doing?
Melville-Kilpatrick: Just about got it--making sure nothing interferes with it.
Dewitt: Response
Melville-Kilpatrick: How's it going with the tractor?
Dewitt/Morda: Response
Melville-Kilpatrick: Alright...::concentrating:: Got it. Should be in...now!
A person more experienced with the transport would've "gotten" the workbee about five minutes ago, but that was why when there was an emergency Thomas was more likely to run to sickbay than the bridge. Regardless, he grinned when a little green icon showed him that he'd managed to park the workbee in the right space.
Dewitt/Morda: Response
Melville-Kilpatrick: I wouldn't call it just yet. What's the status of the hazmat now?
Dewitt/Morda: Response
