((Deck 6, Main Sickbay, USS Khitomer))

((The day after lunch with Amelia & Reporting in to Hobart))

Doctor Alix Harford had set aside a good portion of her day for touring the Medical Facilities aboard the USS Khitomer. She was excited to be back in uniform, though this one was stiff and itchy, and excited to be back in Starfleet. She needed the clarity of purpose in her life and to feel like she was participating in something larger than herself. Having a common goal with thousands of others from every far reaching corner of the universe helped put her own problems, her own family drama, into perspective. In the grand scheme of the fleet, the universe, the common thread of mortality and struggle, her mommy issues were miniscule. And she had said all of that to Command when coming off her Leave. What she hadn’t said, but felt just as strongly, was how much she missed the crisp air of a sterile Sickbay and the feeling of a dermal regenerator whirring softly beneath her palm. She missed witnessing the magic of stitching skin together in an instant and the incessant beeping of dozens of biobeds. She missed bossy nurses, incompetent Ensigns, one in particular more than the collective whole. Really she craved everything that encompassed being a Doctor on a Starship in Space, flying around the universe healing and helping and lending aid. So today, today was for her, as much as it was a part of her arrival checklist. She only hoped the Sickbay was tidy and orderly and her new Chief Medical Officer wasn’t crazy. That wasn’t too much to ask, right?

Imagine her shock when Alix walked up to the Main Sickbay doors, or what should have been doors, only to find blast marks, a host of eerily empty biobeds, and some strange Haliian woman in a jumpsuit sneaking about rifling through the offices. It was the surprised shriek that gave the woman away as someone who clearly shouldn’t have been there. Alix was frozen by shock and indecision; should she report this interloper? She’d only just arrived, surely she wouldn’t have to make those kinds of waves so soon. An internal sigh of disappointment slumped her shoulders even as her face crinkled with deep contemplation of her options.

Ohnari: ::holding up her hands in surrender:: Please don't tell Agatha...I just needed to get my PADD and....::eyes narrowing:: You aren't a part of the repair crew are you?

Harford: ::hesitant and confused:: No…

In an instant, the woman's countenance changed from that of a caught cat to a welcoming Italian Greyhound, all bright energy, sharp features, and abounding personality.

Ohnari: Oh! Lovely to meet you, I am the Chief medical officer...which gives me a reason to be here...::raising an eyebrow:: How can I help you? ::tilting her head:: You aren't here to go looting, are you? That Agatha woman terrifies me, but I am not afraid to weaponize the woman to protect my tricorders.

Alix was taken aback.

oO Orderly Sickbay, nope. Crazy CMO, check. This is fine. It’s fine. Oo

Harford: I um- don’t know which part to answer first. Hold, please.

Alix paused to order her thoughts and then began answering questions and statements holding up an additional finger with each one as if counting.

Harford: ::raising index finger:: The CMO. Nice to meet you. ::raising middle finger:: I’m sure you don’t need a reason to um- ::unsure:: break into? your own office. ::raising ring finger:: How can you help me? Well, I’m here to meet you I suppose and see the facilities. ::raising pinky finger:: Am I here to go looting? Certainly not. ::extending thumb:: Oh, and I don’t know this Agatha person.

Ohnari: ::grinning:: Glad to hear it. ::dipping her head:: Talia Ohnari, and you are?

Harford: Doctor Alix Harford, recently assigned to your department.

Now, Alix presented a genuine smile. She did, after all, want to make a good first impression on her CMO no matter how crazy the woman might or might not be. After all, she’d not really had the opportunity to truly serve under a Chief yet in her career. So far her experience of Chief Medical Officers was all official sounding emails, carefully crafted memos and missed meetings from distant and absent figure heads who may as well have not been considered to be around at all. This could be a valuable opportunity to learn from someone with more expertise. Plus, she knew of Dr. Ohnari’s reputation second hand… pun intended, and if she was good enough to impress Quentin, Alix was sure there was merit to the rumors.

Ohnari: Response

Harford: If you don’t mind me asking, what uh- ::gesturing to the door she had yet to step through:: what happened here?

Ohnari: Response

Alix’s eyes went wide and she looked more closely at the damage before finally stepping through the opening and surveying the Sickbay that lay beyond the door’s remains.

Harford: Either your team cleans up fast, or the rest of Sickbay seems to have remained intact.

Ohanri: Response

Harford: Do you think I could get a quick tour, or would we risk incurring the wrath of the Troll woman, Agatha?

Ohnari: Response
