After being slightly embarrassed to find that the aforementioned cupboard was not actually a cupboard, Thomas was really hoping that he'd at least be able to prove himself as somewhat competent.

Melville-Kilpatrick: Erm. Do you have any other symptoms, then, or is it just the dizziness? ::turning to Ohnari, slightly quieter:: Is this sort of thing common?

B'Ella: Uh. I had a headache too.

That was something. In his opinion, it mostly pointed to low blood sugar. He'd try to rule out the most common things first.

Ohnari: When was the last time you ate something, B'Ella? ::smiling encouragingly towards Thomas:: I'd check and make sure the implant isn't causing the problem, but other than that, trust your instincts. ::winking playfully:: I can turn around if it feels weird with your new boss looking over your teal clad shoulder.

It seemed that they were thinking in a similar direction. He'd had a similar question. And he wasn't too nervous about her checking over his work. After all, the implants were new to him. If anyone knew what could be going wrong, it would be her.

B'Ella: It’s been some time. I got busy with my work, I forgot to eat something today. I did bring fresh ground raktajino to work with me, but we don’t have a coffee maker yet in the cupboard.

Melville-Kilpatrick: Well then, that's probably a good first step. Can't do much of anything on an empty stomach. Especially not in...an especially small office.

Ohnari: Response

B'Ella: Perhaps I should go to the cafeteria to eat? ::starts to get up:: You can send a note along and I’ll get going.

Melville-Kilpatrick: I don't think so. How about you stay here for a little bit and we'll make sure everything else is alright, too?

He tried to sound authoritative, so that she wouldn't leave even if she was feeling better. In his training he'd learned that officers tended to be some of the more difficult patients around. Something about their position could make them a little more stubborn than the average being.

Ohnari: Response

If it wasn't just low blood sugar, it could be something worse. He didn't want B'Ella fainting in the cafeteria because they'd missed something.

B'Ella: ::sits back down with a sigh:: Yes, replicated is fine. ::looks up with a grin:: Any chance it’s a big plate of spicy chicken wings or pepperoni and gaugh pizza?

Melville-Kilpatrick: ::walking over to the replicator:: Hardly. We wouldn't want to make you feel nauseous. What do you think, Commander? Maybe some chicken soup, instead?

Ohnari: Response

It was probably an overwhelming amount of concern, given the Klingons' especially hardy physiology, but he'd like all of his variables controlled, if possible.

B'Ella: Then that will have to do, for now.

He ordered the food and brought it over. He didn't expect B'Ella to dig in right away. He certainly wouldn't have, in her situation. Whenever he got dizzy, he tended to not want to do much of anything.

Melville-Kilpatrick: This is a good start, but Dr. Ohnari is right. We should be looking in to see if the implant is causing any issues. ::hands over the plate::

B'Ella: ::nervously:: How will you determine if the chip is working properly? ::takes the plate of food::

Melville-Kilpatrick: I can start with the basics. There's potential for minor adverse reactions any time you're injecting someone, but they should normally clear up in a few days. If it's just one of those, we could monitor it and check in with you to make sure it's not something serious. But Commander, you know these better than I do.

Ohnari: Response

Melville-Kilpatrick: ::pointing his medical tricorder at B'Ella:: I'll see if I can detect anything off about your temperature. Have you ever had a more extreme reaction before?

Ohnari/B'Ella: Response

Melville-Kilpatrick: Well, you don't have a fever, and the device isn't picking up on a ton of inflammation around the injection site. Which makes sense, unless you're having pain in that area?

Ohnari/B'Ella: Response
