Ensign Richard Matthews – New Friends!

Lady yapped a little bark, while circling around Richard, or at least tried to. Richard being bigger and smarter knew to step over the leash before he got tangled up. Could she smell the lost cheeseball? Was that what she was looking for?

Matthews: :: Mid-turn he noticed someone sitting alone at the nearby table :: Oh, oh hey! Lieutenant, um Croix! 

Croix: Me? 

Matthews: Yeah, hey! How's it going? 

Carpenter / Zerva / Any: Response

Croix: Hi, I think I've seen you in passing, no?

Looked like the new operations officer didn’t remember him. Excellent, almost bumping into him while rushing down the hall with an arm full of PADDs to deliver to the cartographers was embarrassing. Going with it, Richard just nodded. 

Matthews: Yes, in passing, a pass by with no deviation. I’m Richard Matthews, nice to meet you. 

Deviation, like walking right into the guy. 

Carpenter / Zerva / Any: Response

Croix: I'm Karsyn, Karsyn Croix, it's nice to meet all of you. I'm assuming you're all assigned to the Khitomer? Are you friends of the couple getting married? I forget what their names are, I just received an invite and felt that this was an opportunity to meet folks before we shipped out. Plus, you can't beat the weather here in California. 

Matthews: Or the free food. :: He held up his plate piled with food :: Yeah, we’re friends with Commander Dewitt. He’s the chief engineer for the ship. You’re not in engineering, right? So he isn’t your department head? 

Croix: Response

Richard knew that the Lieutenant wasn’t in engineering. He’d looked up the person he’d almost barreled into. Just in case he had to apologize again. But it might look stalkers if he said he already knew because he’d poked around the crew logs. 

Matthews: Oh hey, want to stick with us then? We can introduce you to the others — I saw the captain and CMO. 

Croix / Carpenter / Zerva / Any: Response

Matthews: And Lieutenant El’Heem should be around soon. But I think he said that he’s part of the wedding party now. Oh, he’s a doctor on the ship.
