The light’s in her office hummed at a steady 47%, a compromise between the harsh brilliance of overhead fluorescents and the shadows of her own preference. A thin ribbon of steam curled up from her mug of coffee as she scrolled through the daily station briefs. She leaned back in her chair and propped her boots on the corner of her desk. She sipped her coffee and scanned the documents. Supply Manifest. Engineering rotation notes. Diplomatic alert. Personnel requests.

Agatha dropped her boots from the desk and leaned forward in her chair. Diplomatic alert. She had double booked. An inspection of the newly repaired station was scheduled later that day by Starfleet. She didn’t have time for both. She skimmed the document and one line caught her attention: “Incoming Delegation – Kressari Empire.” She scowled mildly and turned to the viewport. The Khitomer’s bruised hole reflected the light of the systems star. She took another sip of her coffee, leaned back and tapped her commbadge.

She took another sip of her coffee.
Stergis: =/\= Thank you Captain. ::pausing, considering:: You have an ensign ::swiveling back to her desk and searching her PADD:: El’Heem on duty? =/\=

She lifted her lower lip in contemplation.
Stergis: =/\= Good. Take him with you. They’re a Kressari delegation. Stergis out. =/\=
The channel closed with a soft chirp. Agatha leaned back, tossing the PADD onto her desk. She cradled the mug of coffee in both hands and took another sip. The matter was handled. She turned to the next brief, the quiet of post-invasion bureaucracy returning.
