((Outside Ras’s quarters, Room 143, Deck 14, USS Khitomer, Docked at DS33))
Zerva: ::beaming:: You really were a lifesaver, Lera. I couldn’t have done without you. ::stomach grumbles:: Good thing we’re eating soon. I haven’t had a decent non replicated meal since at least last shore leave.
Banks: ::half to herself:: I sometimes think I’m the only person in Starfleet who likes replicated food.
Michaels: My mother always says "Everybody and everything has someone or something that loves it. So I don't have to." Do not ask me why that reminds me but Juliet said you were particularly helpful on the Bridge.:: To Banks:: You may not be aware but Ezra is a Security officer. :: back to Ezra :: What did you do? Do not leave out any important details.
There was a lot that had happened on the bridge during the last mission. Some of it good like his MacZerva device and some of it bad, like being told he and Semara were expandable. Not just them, but the whole crew were expandable. The mission came first, the crew be dammed or so he was told. It was something he was reluctant to talk about. He was sure a lot of it was the stress of the job at the time, but he couldn’t be entirely sure. Either way, it was one detail he was hoping to avoid. At least in front of the new ensign. Maybe later when they were alone, he’d talk about it with Lera. Or at the very least with the ships consoler.
Zerva: Well with Lieutenant Semara’s encouragement, I was able to scrap some parts together from various equipment we had available on the bridge. We used those parts to make a sensor device. One that could boost the sensor signals range since the ships sensors were not fully functional. We named it the MacZerva Device. It was used at the end of the mission to help us escape the nebula. That was right before the console went off in front of me. If I hadn’t jumped in the way, Semara might have been the one in sickbay instead of me or maybe both of us? The whole thing will be in my final briefing logs, once I sit down to write it up. ::rolls his eyes:: Just when I thought it was safe to ignore my work on shore leave, I’m reminded that my security work never ends.
Michaels / Banks: Response?
Zerva: I did what anyone else would to protect a crewmate. I’m sure you would have done the same.
Michaels / Banks: Response?
Zerva: ::chuckles:: As for the MacZerva, you’re assuming I can remember what parts I used and how I did it. If I can remember it all, I was debating if I should publish the instructions in Science or Engineering Weekly?
Michaels / Banks: Response?
Zerva: Good idea. ::checks the time on his PADD:: Ras should be finished soon.
Michaels / Banks: Response
((OOC: I’m happy to sim more here if you want before the four of us arrive at the restaurant))
((Brief Timeskip. Ventral Ring Beta Module, Mellow Mushroom, Deep Space 33))
The four of them arrived at the restaurant, with its vibrate bright colors of reds, blues, greens, yellows, purples and more in a cascade of plant life painted about the room. Colorful leaves fell about along the walls with a number of leafy plants from different planets across Federation space scattered about the restaurant. It was a jungle of plant life that made him wonder if this was indeed a restaurant. Ezra quickly found under the black lighting that the leaves gave off the same sort of glow the paints on the walls did, or something close to it. It was an interesting design choice to say the least.
Bolian Hostess: Welcome to Mellow Mushroom. ::does a quick count:: Will that be four today?
Zerva: We have a reservation, under Zerva. ::whispers to the group:: I found this place on the stations directory. It’s got 4.5 out of 5 stars. The one bad review was from a Klingon who complained the vegetables were not alive enough for their taste. ::snickers:: Do they even have vegetables on Kronos?
El’Heem / Croix / C. Matthews / Banks / Zerva / Michaels / Any: Response
Bolian Hostess: Yes of course. Right this way. We have one of your party that arrived just before you. Your server’s name is Mattia.
((OCC Mattia is Italian for Matthew. Sorry not sorry, I couldn’t resist))
As they approached the area where they would be sitting, Ezra spied Richard sitting alone with a milkshake next to him and a desert menu in hand.
Zerva: ::waves to Richard:: Hey, thanks for getting us the table.
::gestures to Ras:: Look who I brought along with me.
Ezra wondered if this was indeed a good idea. He was sure of it back at Ras’s quarters. Now he wasn’t entirely sure. He just hoped nobody would make a big deal about Ras losing his hand. He wanted today to be filled with lots of laugher and relaxing fun.
El’Heem / Croix / C. Matthews / Banks / Michaels / Any: Response
Richard looked up and grinned
R. Matthews: Hey, glad you could make it! Grab a seat and a menu!
Zerva: Thank you. ::gestures to Lera:: You remember Ensign Michaels from engineering.
::gestures to Banks:: And this here is our new Helmsman, Ensign Banks. She’s the one who piloted us out Hobart’s Hol… er the nebula.
::pulls out a chair for Lera:: Right here okay?
R. Matthews / El’Heem / Croix / C. Matthews / Banks / Zerva / Michaels / Any: Response
Zerva: ::takes a seat next to Lera:: A desert menu Richard? Already? You’re not thinking about skipping on some delicious garden food now, are you? ::takes a menu:: I see you’ve got a milkshake already. As much as I’d like one, I think some tea would be nice.
R. Matthews / El’Heem / Croix / C. Matthews / Banks / Zerva / Michaels / Any: Response
Zerva: ::looks at the menu, speaking to everyone:: Any recommendations?
While he was looking at the menu, his free hand dropped between his seat and Lera’s. With the exception of the dance at the Dewitt’s wedding, he hadn’t shown a lot of outward affections in public towards Ensign Michaels. They had held hands before in sickbay and in his room, but this was different. In that moment, his fingers reached out towards hers. What was it that Lera had said before in his quarters? It felt right.
R. Matthews / Ras / Croix / C. Matthews / Banks / Zerva / Michaels / Any: Response
Looking over their menu options, the tables server arrived. He was dressed in vibrant shades of various greens on his shirt top and his apron was shaded with a bonsai tree slashed across the front of the folded over apron around his waist.
Mattia: ::Italian accent:: Hello. My name is Mattia. I am your server for today. Can I get you all started with some drinks or would you like to wait for the rest of your party?
