Talia Ohnari had a bit of a problem. She just loved...well? Love. And seeing people she loved, or at least liked the heck out of, she wanted to see them happy. She liked the idea of Alix and Charles. Both somewhat reserved, but yet complimentary. But...she had already pushed that button far enough.
Ohnari: ::brightening:: Hey that Torado is pretty cute, right? And she didn't run screaming when you threw up breakfast in front of her, considering she's a marine...that probably wasn't anything other than a regular Tuesday. ::bouncing on her toes a bit:: If things with Alix are good and truly uh...finalized...maybe...::catching the look:: You know what? I think I've stepped in it enough already. ::turning suddenly:: Oh look! Marionettes!
Mentally kicking herself, she tried to move to conversation towards the marionettes in front of them.
Charles: I don’t know a Torado… ::shrugs:: I suppose she isn’t uneasy on the eye.
She was about to admonish him for his quasi compliment on the marine, when the glassy semi reflective stare just seemed to...follow her....
Stepping from one foot to the other, it was unnerving.
Ohnari: ::whispering:: Why does it look like the eyes are following you...
Charles: It’s… it’s just going to be the mechanics in their heads…
It seemed the tactical officer was taking the threat seriously, which comforted her immensely.
Ohnari: Oh right...uh...mechanics. Heh. Ooh is that a dancing mushroom! I have got to get that for Ras. Have you met our towering Kressari doctor turned scientist? We just collabed on a replacement hand...and I may have made more than a few puppeteer jokes...
Charles: ::laughing weakly:: I have met Lieutenant El’Heem. The puppet jokes seem a little insensitive…
Talia snorted. Clearly Charles hadn't yet learned the Khitomer's universal love language: Razzing. Constant, incessant razzing.
Charles: … but if you want to make the little dancing mushroom more accurate, you’d slice off one of its arms.
Ohnari: ::a bark of a laugh escaped:: I could replace it with a slightly off color hand...you know, more realistic and such.
Charles: I know, right? It seems a little hypocritical now you mention it. I blame you and the crew, it’s your influence rubbing off on me.
Now the Haliian faced the man with a full grin.
Ohnari: Hey....you're learning! ::reaching out, she clapped the man on the shoulder:: Consider yourself one of us now. ::solemn nod:: May the Gods show mercy upon you...
A wink indicated the joke, except...well? Strange things happened out in the Alpha Isles. She may have been kidding, but who knew what was waiting for them out in the gas clouds.
The two continued down the aisles, commenting here and there on the various displays. The range went from beautiful, gilded art, to surprisingly complex mechanics.
Charles: They’re something called Transmorphers… Optimal Chief? Megaton. Ultra Magnets? ::shakes head:: It’s junk. Moving on! ::pause:: Actually, wait, are you getting anything specific from here?
Somehow in the span of him asking the question, and when he turned to face her, Talia had grasped about twenty seven different treasures, and was balancing them in her arms. Catching the look on his face, she looked at him curiously.
