((That afternoon))
This particular beach, at the edge of the city, was Valora's favorite little spot in Marseille. It wasn't the most traveled beach, but it was quiet and beautiful. Plus, with her El-Aurian memory, she had no trouble at all remembering every tiny detail of their simple beach marriage ceremony 196 years ago. It would be 197 years in June.
Today, the waves splashed gently along the shore and no one was in the water, of course they wouldn't be, it was cold. Still, Valora was stretched out in her bikini enjoying the winter sun.
Karsyn looked over at Valora who looked like a Queen absorbing the rays of the sun like a diva in a sense.
K. Croix: Are you comfortable over there?
V. Croix: I am, yes.
She smiled like a cat with cream, her eyes closed beneath the sunglasses that covered her eyes.
V. Croix: Are you enjoying your view?
While Valora liked to experience things, jumping in feet first and immersing herself fully, Karsyn was one to watch contemplatively. He enjoyed a beautiful sunset, the view of a shoreline; the quiet beauties.
K. Croix: I’m enjoying all of my views, absolutely.
He chuckled wholeheartedly as he complimented the scenery and Valora.
V. Croix: I was just remembering our wedding day. We were so young, not quite 100 even.
He raised a brow in curiosity, hidden by his sunglasses.
K. Croix: Glad to see that your memory is still intact. You’re not quite elderly yet.
V. Croix: El-Aurian memory. It's a blessing... usually.
Their race was famous for their highly captive minds and most of the time it came as a huge benefit, but as they both knew, there were some things you just wished to forget.
K. Croix: Yeah, for the most part with a handful of exceptions here and there.
V. Croix: Mhm... But not that day, that's one I'm glad to remember forever.
He nodded his head in agreement. It was certainly a memory to cherish. He spoke in a tone indicating that he was being quite playful.
K. Croix: Yeah, arguably the best day of my life.
V. Croix: Arguably? You mean easily the best day of your life.
She played right back with him.
K. Croix: Agreed.
V. Croix: What was your favorite moment that day?
He shrugged his shoulders casually as he laid on his back next to Valora.
K. Croix: I don’t know, I think ‘I do’ or our vows. How about you?
V. Croix: The way you scooped me up and twirled me around after we kissed. I felt like a princess.
K. Croix: Wait, I thought you were the Queen?
Valora smiled, sitting up and crawling into Karsyn's lap. Her arms wrapped around his neck.
V. Croix: I'm your queen.
Karsyn sat up and smiled, making direct eye contact with Valora. He tilted his head slightly and kissed her lips softly.
K. Croix: I know.
Valora returned his kiss, running her hands along his bare chest. She smiled and her tone became very suggestive.
V. Croix: There's something else we did that day that I remember very well.
Karsyn’s eyes widened as he recalled her suggestion and readily accepted her advances.
K. Croix: Oh, thanks for reminding me of my favorite part of the day.
V. Croix: It was still sweet of you to say it was our vows, even if I know better.
Valora laughed as Karsyn began fumbling with the ties at the back of her bikini and the two fell backwards onto the sand.
