((OOC: Did my best to stitch the last two sims together. If I missed anything, please let me know. I also broke it up into two parts as it was getting long)).

((Alpha Trionus II Prison, Corridor Between Junctions))

C. Dewitt: Where does that corridor lead? Any sensitive areas?

Stros: If I remember correctly, that is the waste disposal for one of the cell blocks. I do not believe it is in service at the moment. ::Tilting head slightly:: Do the Tholian or Sheliak produce waste?

Zerva: ::shrugs:: You got me. On those simulations we did on the Holodeck with the Lattice Alliance, we didn’t account for the possibility of bathroom breaks or what that would detail. ::shutters::

What would it even look like? His mind found himself thinking about their waste. Not a good thought for one to have. Especially now.

C. Dewitt: ::dryly:: I’d rather not find out firsthand. Let’s assume they do and just hope no one has to deal with it.

Stros: If the waste disposal unit is not in service, It may make for a rather convenient hiding place for someone who isn’t supposed to be roaming free.

Zerva: As long as they don’t mind the smell. Can Tholians smell like we do? Do their crystalline form inside that shell of theirs, protect them from that? I recall, sometime around the events of Frontier Day, some members of the engineering team found some Latinum in our waste disposal unit aboard the Khitomer. ::looks over at Connor:: Where did that Latinum disappear to anyways? ::mutters:: Never did figure out how it got there.

C. Dewitt: ::half-grinning, still focused on the junction:: I filed it under "unsolved mysteries"—right between the missing plasma injectors and who keeps reprogramming the replicator dessert menu.

Yes, Ezra seemed to recall there was someone who had been messing with the replicators the year prior. A lot of things had happened aboard Khitomer that had not been explained. Like who had been messing with environmental controls on Frontier Day? There were a lot of unanswered questions. He made a point to add as many to the list for him to solve, perhaps he’d have time next shore leave.

Stros: I do not want to raise concern, but we may want to move quickly to avoid any unwanted guests. ::Looking towards Dewitt:: Once we have these nodes sorted out, internal sensors in this area may be able to detect anything…out of place.

Best idea Stros had yet.

Ezra quickly returned to his work, keeping one eye on the waste disposal corridor as he worked.

Zerva: ::nods:: No arguments from me. ::eyes the wires:: Looks like we’ve got about half of them sorted. ::points:: What’s that green one do?

C. Dewitt: ::smirking slightly:: Depends. Do you like having lights?

Of course he liked having lights. Especially now, here in this corridor on a prison planet. Who didn’t? Well okay maybe a possum or some creature like it that enjoyed the darkness.

oO Oh no. What if it’s a giant rodent running around out there? Like really big. It is a prison. They always have rodents. Oo

Stros: I believe they are connected to environmental controls… But it appears to be tied into the facility’s defensive systems. ::beat:: Are they using the environmental systems as defensive systems? ::Looking towards the others:: Are there environmental conditions that the Tholian’s and Sheliak find unsuitable?

Hmm that certainly could be a thing. It would make sense to try and use the environment against their prisoners as a precaution.

Zerva: In my research of Tholians, I know they require an atmosphere that is primarily a methane-chlorine mixture and cannot breathe oxygenated air. They also need extremely high temperatures to remain active, or so the science logs I’ve read on previous Starfleet research has stated. Makes you wonder what would happen at lower temperatures? I wonder if that means their bodies work like cold blooded animals? :::looks up at the overhead lights as they flickered briefly:: As for the lights? Hey, I’m not the one causing the lights to blink.

Stros looked up towards the still occasionally flickering overhead lights. Was that a smirk on the Vulcan’s face? Since when do Vulcans smirk? Apparently this one did.

Stros: I do not believe there is any evidence to the contrary, Lieutenant.

C. Dewitt: Let’s try to keep it that way.

((Brief Timeskip. Alpha Trionus II Prison, Corridor Between Junctions))

After several more minutes their work was finished. The panel was returned and the lights at the junction got brighter. His eyes darted back to the waste disposal corridor. It was easier to see with the lights up and there clearly was a door at the end of the corridor. It was rather plan looking with a hazard warning sign in the center. It had lots of rust around its hinges from what he could see at this distance. Had it been opened? Did someone recently use it to hide?

He found himself gently tapping his feet as he waited for those improved senors readings

Zerva: I feel better already now that we’re done with this one. Do you think we should investigate that door or move on? I can’t tell if it’s been opened or not at this distance. Cause I can already smell from here it’s not one I’m actively wanting to open. But for security reasons, I’m willing to do my part.

Stros: We could mark this location for later investigation. ::Head tilting:: Perhaps after the air has been recirculated for some time.

C. Dewitt: Let’s not take any chances. We’ll check it—just sweep it, quick. I’d rather be sure than regret it.

Made sense to Ezra. He wouldn’t be doing his job as a security officer if he didn’t asses and check any potential risks.

Zerva: Not a bad idea. What about those internal sensors? Is it picking something up?

Stros pulled out his tricorder. He then held his up slightly to try and get a connection to the internal systems of the facility.

Stros: I’m not seeing anything that could be categorized as ‘out of the ordinary’.

Zerva: ::breathing a sigh of relief:: Good. The sooner we’re done down here the better.

Stros re-holstered his tricorder and straightened his uniform jacket.

Stros: I have the location marked for future investigation. I believe we have two more nodes to–

Stros’s words were interrupted by a loud thud, followed by a series of what sounded like tapping against metal that seemed to be coming from the waste management hallway.
