((Deck 6, Docking Port 1, Deep Space 33))

Klingon Ensign B’Ella ((OOC pronounced BE-ella)) daughter of K’vort of the House of Pesh and newly minted Communications Officer of the USS Khitomer stepped out of the runabout that brought her to Deep Space 33. She was no stranger to the station, having spent several weeks here before heading off to the Academy, as a part of the officer exchange program between the Klingon Empire and the Federation.

She flung her red haired braided ponytail over a shoulder of her Starfleet Uniform, taking a deep breath of the fresh air of the station. Well as fresh as docking port air could be on a station this far out in Federation Space. While the confines inside a runabout, were not as small as a shuttle, it still nonetheless caused her a small amount of anxiety. It was during her time in the Klingon Navy that she gained a phobia of small spaces. Forced to work in the small confines of her Klingon Naval Vessel, she grew to distaste such small spaces and the smells that accompanied such places. It was because of that, the air in the station and the large space of the docking port was a welcoming site.

Thankfully she kept her cool on the way to the station, burrowing herself in the PADD that carried all the specs of the Khitomer and its files on Captain Randal Shayne and his crew. Captain Shayne was no stranger to B’Ella. While they had not yet met in person, her former Captain during her time in the Klingon Navy aboard the IKS K'prong, one General Murkad was familiar with Captain Shayne. Murkad was a battle harden veteran of the Dominion War, but had taken up the bottle in the years since the Dominion War had ended. He wasn’t the same well respected man he was during the war. Despite this, B’Ellla remained loyal and was onboard the K'prong in late 2397 when a conference was called by Captain Shayne between the six major powers of the region to unite against the Alliance. That conference ultimately broke down with each major power having an agenda of their own. In the end, the  General was able to sober up long enough to assist the USS Arrow in the final moments of that conflict. A year later, she found herself here and then off to the Academy to join Starfleet.

Swinging her shoulder strapped carrying luggage case over one shoulder filled with her only belongings, she took the long way to the furtherest transporter room. Having arrived an hour earlier than she was expected, B’Ella used that time to re-familiarize herself with the station, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells. Satisfied after a good twenty minutes, she entered the transporter room, ready to beam over to her new home. But before she could do that, a fair number of Khitmore crew members were disembarking from the ship.

Curious, she tapped a crewman on the shoulder, asking him what was going on. He informed her it was time for the after shore leave awards ceremony. She had hoped that she would have arrived at least a day before in order to give herself time to settle in her new quarters and change into something more causal to wear, like her Klingon leather dress. Shrugging, B’Ella followed the rest of the remaining Khitmore crew to Holodeck One on DS-33.

((Brief Timeskip. Holodeck 1 - DS 33; Simulation of Broken Tepui Aerie, Klowahka))

B’Ella entered the Holodeck. She had never been to Klowahka before and was not familiar with it well enough to judge the room’s appearance one way or another. Her eyes scanned the room full of new faces all of whom; except for Captain Shayne who was taking the stage, were all blur. She had hoped to meet with him first and give him one of two gifts that she had that was inside her travel luggage case. It would have to wait until after the awards were given.

The other gift, was for her operations teammates, but finding one of them here was like a needle in a stack of needles. Especially when your department had all of like 3 people out of hundreds of crew in it, all with new faces she’d never seen before.

Looking about the room at the many faces, one face stood out to her. She recognized Lt. JG Erzan Reht from the personal files she had read about. The Lieutenant was the highest ranking Operations Officer onboard the Khitomer. This would be the person she would report to as communications were folded under the umbrella of operations. Stepping forward, she offered a greeting.

B’Ella: Greetings. I am Ensign B’Ella, your new communications officer.

::offers a firm solid handshake::

Reht: Response

B’Ella: The pleasure is mine. Is this how most shore leaves end?

Reht: Response

B’Ella: I see ::nods:: I just arrived and was on my way to the Khitomer, when I ran into a number of the crew coming here. I haven’t had the chance to unpack yet.

Reht: Response

B’Ella: I’ll be sure to try and find a place once the award ceremony is over. It would seem the Khitomer is running out of living quarter space. Perhaps there is one among you that wouldn’t mind a chatty Klingon as a roommate? ::checks her PADD:: I see Ensign Matthews in science likes milkshakes. Does this Richard also like pizza?

Reht: Response

B’Ella: Perhaps. There are a lot of potential crew bunk mates to choose from. And yes, I learned to like pizza on earth. Gagh and pepperoni pizza is a personal favorite. I do have something I wanted to give the department once we get on board. A gift for the Operations office. Unfortunately the specs on the Khitmore do not include such a location. Care to explain?
